Advantages: Ease of installation Disadvantages: Two hard drives dying out after 1 year of use each
...after 1 year of using it, the harddrive was brand new when I installed it to the enclosure and since I thought it was the drives fault not the enclosures I switched my other harddrive to this enclosure and 1 year later again the same thing is starting to happen with the harddisk slowly dieing out.
I am starting to think this enclosure is problematic and it's not the harddrives fault, I suggest buying another model which includes cooling system unlike this enclosure which is probably the reason why the drives are dying out.

Tsunami has been traditionally producing cases, speakers and desktop manager (mice+keyboard+speakers). In the recent years, TSUNAMI seems to have moved away from the budget/lower range products and concentrating more on offering unique, innovative, artistic and quality products. They are even Intel exclusive partner for specialist chassis design. Today I have one of their 3.5" harddriveenclosure with me for testing - speed 3500. The version that I got in my hand supports both ide and sata harddrive.
=The Package=
Comes in color retail box with plenty of feature lists to give you a good idea what you are buying. The box is simple, but its very robust and will ensure the safe transport of the unit (even if you have a harddrive in). Also enclosed with foot stand (to position the device vertically or horizontally), USB2.0 cable...

...specifications. This capacity determines how much the disk can store.
The product design is quite simple. It’s basically a box with curved edges. It’s blue in and black in colour and has a Q-Tec badge on it. Inside, there’s a fan, a circuit board with a power molex connector and an IDE cable that goes into the board. The board is not secured and is only secured when you put the lid on and screw it on, as the screws go through the board into the lid from the bottom. I would prefer for it to be stuck down or something, as it sometimes moves about when I have the HDD case opened, and need to position it properly before putting the lid on.
In case you’re wondering, the ‘3.5 inches’ refers to the standard size of the harddrives we use inside the desktop PCs these days (the drive width). The “USB2” in the title refers to the USB2.0 connection the case...
