I have a very limited knowledge of homeopathy and you will not get a detailed rundown of everything aconite is supposed to do. If thats what you are after I suggest you read "Blow Away Those Winter Colds" by lazza123. Here you will only be getting the little i have learned and my own personal experience of the product.
From what I can gather, the main reasoning behind homeopathy is a minute amount of what kills you , cures you. So to start with I found this somewhat disturbing when my dentist suggested I get Aconite for my fear of going to see him.
I had a little look around on the net and found, that in its natural form, Wolfsbane and Monkfoot, it is deadly poisonous. Again,I wasn't too enamoured with the idea, that and the fact he told me to take one every fifteen minutes for two hours prior to my appointment.

Aconite is a really useful homeopathic remedy, and it is certainly one to keep in the medicine chest.
** What is it? **
Aconite is more commonly known as Monkshood or Wolfsbane. The raw plant is actually very poisonous, but that is not a problem for us, as homoeopathically the remedy is diluted so much that there is virtually no material dose of the plant left.
In homeopathic terms, a remedy can have a number of ?Keynotes? these are symptoms which are almost specific for the remedy.
Keynotes of Aconite include:
Sudden onset
Worse for dry cold air
Restless
Anxious
Pains intolerable
Ailments from anxiety, shock or fright, or becoming chilled
Worse at midnight

Advantages: VERY EFFECTIVE. CAN BE PURCHASED IN BOOTS. CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS ON BOTTLE. Disadvantages: CAN CAUSE MILD AGGRAVATION OF SYMPTOMS AT FIRST - THIS IS A GOOD SIGN SO STICK WITH IT. STOP TAKING WHEN FEELING BETTER OR SYMPTOMS MAY REAPPEAR
Aconite - Monkshood
My family used to suffer from frequent colds that lasted a long time and were difficult to shift. A friend of mine had used homeopathic remedies for some time and was convinced that they worked, so I began using aconite, for myself and my family. We still do catch the occassional cold but now they are usually mild and clear up very quickly.
The remedy works for the whole family, for several ailments that I will tell you about later, but the remedy seems to be an absorlute miracle worker for my 11 year old son. Given at the first sneeze, it gives him a boost that enables his body to fight the cold off and he now only occassionally succums to a colds.
