This DVD player is a good choice for those wanting a basic 'put disc in and play' machine, because that is pretty much all it does. There are none of the advanced features that are expected with modern DVD players.
Although compatible with audio (MP3) and photo (JPG/JPEG) discs the features are lacking as there is no ability to choose a playlist as such - other than the order they appear on the disc. For audio playback, there is also no clever light display, just the list of tracks.
This is still a good choice for technophobes wanting a basic machine that does all that a VHS machine does, but with DVDs. At the end of the day you would not expect much from this 'cheap and cheerful' machine, but is does exactly what it says on the box.
