Hornblower collection
Review of Hornblower Complete Collection (Box Set) by mazuk88

Advantages: Big gun-ho adventure following many exciting charecters
Disadvantages: Could show more epic scenes showing big battles.

...form of the brave Horation Hornblower a midshipman who is sea sick and a very quiet and vulnerable young man throughout the episodes you see him prove him self time and time again in the face of danger ranging from fighting onshore blowing up coast batteries and fighting skirmishes of the coasts of europe and africa. There are many famous officers played in this collection for example Sir edward Pellew commander of H.M.S Indefatigable who has personal ...

Review of Die Hard Trilogy (Collector's Edition) by JeanReno

Advantages: Great films, nice extras, nice box.
Disadvantages: No Die Hard 4

After Die Hard 4's release last summer i felt compelled to buy the original films. The original trilogy still cuts the mustard even without lashings of CGI and such. The old tale of a renegade cop is nothing new but it was reborn in these films with not only great casting and the wonerful ham acting of Alan Rickman (Die Hard), but also great action and good solid film-making. As for the box set, not only does it come with the films but a strong set ...
...watch over and over. I think the only possible let down for me is that Die Hard 4.0 (which i would recommend buying with this set and taking the weekend off) isn't included, but this isn't the end of the world. All in all a safe buy for action fans. ... Read review

The Fugitive Blue Ray dvd
Review of The Fugitive DVD by jellybean21

Advantages: The audio is very good
Disadvantages: Video is very disappointing

...oscar for his role as the deputy and Harrison Ford is brilliant as Dr Kimble. It's a fast paced, intelligent film which keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed in this blue ray presentation. The picture quality is dull and the colours are not as crisp as I expected. Some of the darker scenes are impoved but still look a bit grainy, The audio is quite good and an improvement on the original dvd which ... Read review

Review of Gone In 60 Seconds DVD by majidali

Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: nothing

gone in 60 seconds is a remake of the1974 version. i think it has lived up to the first film (which was not completed). this is a great film, with what i would say makes a film great. it has fast cars, well known actors and a lot of crashes. the story begins with kip memphises brother stealing a porsche, he arrogantly starts a street race and is seen by a police officer on the side of the road making a unrelated arrest. the police officer finds ...
...of minutes the whole police force is trying to catch kips gang. kip and his gang make a exit and fortunately no one is arrested, however a not so pleased calitri (who is going to buy the stolen cars) threatens to kill kip. memphis finds out and goes to see calitri and gives him money to let kip off the hook, unfortunately for kip calitri is more worried about his image, then he is trying to make money. calitri asks memphis to steal 50 cars for him ... Return of the Dark Knight
Review of Batman (Movie Box Set) by mattb1983

Advantages: Tim Burton, Michael Keaton
Disadvantages: Batman and Robin, George Clooney, Nipples on the suit!

...set contains the first 4 Batman films, and the great thing about this box set is that it is cheaper than buying the films individually, and it chronicles the change in the Batman genre, from dark and moody (Burton), to more slapstick and comic-book like (Schumacher). And so we begin with Batman (1989). This is not an origin story, like Batman Begins, instead, the film picks up with Batman already well established as a masked vigilante, putting the ...
...a bell tower showdown. Batman is a very dark affair, but watching it, even now, it's not difficult to see why this film became (at the time) one of the top 10 highest grossing films ever. Burton paints a dark, decrepit, devastating Gotham City, whilst Michael Keaton was born to play the dark knight. Jack Nicholson, as usual, steals the film with one of the great super-villain displays, as the demented Joker. Next to Batman Returns, which sees the ... Read review
