Passed Selection!
Review of Ultimate Force - Series 1-4 (Box Set) by Wisk

Advantages: Excellent storyline and special effects, Well developed characters
Disadvantages: Tendency to rabble, nationalist humour

...for the past few years. Ultimate force plays well of the auora of mystery that surrounds the SAS. Although the dialouge does start to drift into the usual technical-jargon banter that occurs during this genre of television it more than makes up for it with its stunning special effects and deeply involved storyline that hooks in the viewer right from the start. A must for fans of any action or sci-fi series produced in the past or any ex-millitary ...
...value rather than acting as padding to make up for a mediocre ammount /quality of work. Due to its nature if you are of US origin i would advise against a purchase unless you have a good sense of humour as they play off american faults with sything british humour. ... Read review

Smallville Season 4 - DVD Box Set
Review of Smallville - Series 4 - Complete (Collector's Box Set) by g-star

Advantages: The whole season in one set! Thrilling and exciting
Disadvantages: Waiting for Season 5

To buy this DVD collection you must have seen Season 3 and it takes off with a bang! The episodes are thrilling and all relate to one another building up to a season that ends in a super climax. Clark's character develops even more than in previous seasons and the introduction of Lois Lane may leave some Superman fans bemused, but she lifts the action packed season to another level. The episodes gives you the everything from action, mystery, romance, ...
...the DVD set are average with commentary for only three episodes and the only problem with the DVD set is the audio encryption is 2.0 and should really be 5.1, especially for the small moments of high packed action. This though, does not make me enjoy such an excellent DVD set any less and leaves me waiting for Season 5. It is definitely worth the buy for all Superman fans and especially those who enjoy the TV series. ... Read review

Reeve is the ONLY Superman
Review of The Christopher Reeve Superman Collection (Box Set) by DAkuma

Advantages: exhaustive bonus material / New versions of 1 & 2.
Disadvantages: Superman IV should be thrown onto a fire

...reasons to get this: Superman the Movie (with the extra footage never before seen) and Superman II (the Richard Donner Cut). Bonus Disc: If you had a taste for watching a bit of Superman one afternoon, you won't by the end of this: It's cram-packed with all kinds of documentaries, early versions of Superman the B&W TV series (which really looks pre-historic now), and some cartoons. Enough to keep you busy all afternoon and actually be bored of ...
...Movie: The never before seen footage makes you wonder why they cut it from the original, as there are some clever special effects showing that Superman is extreme temperature resistant. Perhaps the running time was an issue, however, for one who's seen Superman a thousand times, the extra footage will not dissapoint. Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut: This is where over half the film has been remade with recently found footage that was thought ... Read review

The second and final season of Dark Angel
Review of Dark Angel - Season 2 (Box Set) (Wide Screen) by ciaofluffymuppet

Advantages: Another 21 episodes in Max's mutant world
Disadvantages: Lots of people don't like the 'monsters'

...In Season 1 of Dark Angel we met Max, a genetically engineered soldier who was born and raised in the government's secret Manticore facility. Max escaped from Manticore with several of her siblings when she was a child, and has been living a low profile existence ever since. She teams up with undercover journalist Eyes Only to uncover corruption in a post-apocalyptic America, whilst trying to reconnect with her brothers and sisters and avoid being ...
...has a different feel, as we meet many more of Manticore's genetic experiments - most of whom are considerably less human than Max and her X5 siblings. They've all been bred for specific environments and tasks, and are far less able to cope with the real world than Max - and so she feels responsible for them. Max spends season 2 fighting for the right of these 'mutants' to live, whilst dealing with an impossible relationship with Logan (the man she ... Read review
