A review on Lord of the Rings DVD
Review of The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy (Extended Editions) by delc1234

Advantages: Good cinematic effects, graphics and landscape
Disadvantages: A little too long

...good and evil, Lord of the Rings had outdone many other shows, bagging acclaimed awards and leaving people hungry for more. It is able to blend a kind of fantasy- like orcs and goblins, mages and wizards with a very rustic and ancient setting of Middle East, The Shire, Mordor, and other architectural sets. It leaves us gasping and transfixed in our seats, for every battle, every story stimulates the senses, coupled with good humour and wisdom. This ... Read review

Passed Selection!
Review of Ultimate Force - Series 1-4 (Box Set) by Wisk

Advantages: Excellent storyline and special effects, Well developed characters
Disadvantages: Tendency to rabble, nationalist humour

...for the past few years. Ultimate force plays well of the auora of mystery that surrounds the SAS. Although the dialouge does start to drift into the usual technical-jargon banter that occurs during this genre of television it more than makes up for it with its stunning special effects and deeply involved storyline that hooks in the viewer right from the start. A must for fans of any action or sci-fi series produced in the past or any ex-millitary ...
...value rather than acting as padding to make up for a mediocre ammount /quality of work. Due to its nature if you are of US origin i would advise against a purchase unless you have a good sense of humour as they play off american faults with sything british humour. ... Read review

The Halo Returns!!
Review of The Return Of The Saint - The Complete Series (Box Set) by Timbo3107

Advantages: Enjoyable to watch, first time on DVD.
Disadvantages: This is everything!

According to the novels Simon Templar is a bit of an enigma, little is known about the character as to his past, but little is known about who he actually is. All that can be assumed from the novels by Leslie Charteris is that the character is a Robin Hood that stands for the good of justice but will take on a vigilante role if necessary. After the success of Roger Moore as Simon Templar, it was going to be difficult to top that with a new TV series ...
...1977, Producer of the original series, Robert S. Baker approached Sir Lew Grade to propose the return to TV of a well known character to the ITV schedules and later that year it was announced that a new series was indeed in production and would be broadcast across the ITV network during the autumn of 1978. The main question was who was going to play The Saint as Roger Moore had now become the new James Bond and would be unwilling to come back to ... Read review

The Irish Bond.
Review of James Bond Ultimate Pierce Brosnan - Goldeneye/Tomorrow Never Dies/The World Is Not Enough/Die Another Day (Box Set) by Timbo3107

Advantages: All of the Brosnan films in one box with decent extra's.
Disadvantages: Product placement gets worse by the last film!!

...after the last Bond film, James Bond returned in Bond 17. ----The Films---- GoldenEye (1995) This was the first vehicle that Brosnan appeared in and for me this is probably the better out the four films he made. It is moody, dramatic and will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Although in some places it does step up toi the line of unbelievable it does not cross it to the extent that a film like Charlie's Angels did. The ...
...with the plot revolving around rouge agent 006 who steals the GoldenEye weapon with the intent of wiping out the Bank of England and all computer records in the City Of London. The weapon itself explodes a nuclear bomb in space and uses the electro magnetic pulse to wipe out anything below within a 30 mile radius, effectively eliminating the use of all electrical equipment. The cast is made up of multi national actors, Sean Bean as 006, Joe Don ... Read review
