Advantages: Chock full of humour and great ethos

I firstly must stress this is not for everybody. There are many things that people will not like about this programme. The biggest thing is the special effects. This was made in the seventies and early eighties and on a cheap budget. Advantages: Historically accurate with terrific battle scenes.
Disadvantages: Not much in the way of dvd extras.

Sharpe is based on the novels by Bernard Cornwell. He is a young infantry soldier in the napoleonic war who gets raised from the ranks by the Duke of Wellington after saving his life. There are 14 dvd's in the box set but there are very few extras.
