Advantages: acting, story, action packed
Disadvantages: duration of three hours

...of visual effects and acting, the fact that there are some fairly unknown actors playing some major roles helps with the fantasy feeling like a reality. if you've read the books then yyou maybe disappointed by the film as obviously there are bits that had to be missed out in order to cut the running time, if this is a major problem then i'd recommend you look into purchasing the extended edition. however if you havent read the books then this film ...
...film because of the action packed nature of it but girls there are plenty of advantages to the mainly male cast. this is not a film for you if you prefer short and snappy films as the running time is nearing 3 hours i believe. Disadvantages: Very long. Elijah Wood very slightly over the top
