Advantages: Very comfy, don't dry your eyes out Disadvantages: None really

I've noticed the description next to the above pic of these states 'weekly disposable', but my optician told me they could be worn for a month (and that includes taking them out every night and storing them in solution) before disposing of them. He recommended I wear them for a fortnight, due to the condition of my eyes.
This is first time (and I've been wearing lenses for over ten years) that I have stuck with a particular lens and felt really happy and comfortable with it. My eyes hardly ever feel dry, except when I am extremely tired, and they don't 'stick' to your eyes like some other lenses do when you're a bit tired. I even slept in these by accident one night (I wasn't even drunk), and they came out no problem in the morning.
I am on a 'Lensplan' with these where I pay £19.50 a month and that gives me all the solution I need, all the lenses (plus extras if I tear any), and all contact lens appointments. It might sound like a lot to pay every month when you can just buy a pair of glasses, but I really do not get on with wearing glasses, and contact lenses were always going to be the option for me, so this is ideal as I know exactly what I'm paying and there are no extra costs.
I would definately recommend these lenses to anyone who is thinking of trying out contact lenses. They really are the most comfortables ones I have tried.
The only downside is that I am pregnant at the moment and that makes the lenses sometimes feel a bit uncomfortable, but that's probably because I am tired for 24 hours a day.........
Advantages: Very comfortable and easy to use Disadvantages: Not the cheapest on the market
...from my optician and chose Acuvue Advance.
These lenses are licensed for continuous wear, so in theory they could be left in the eye for the full 2 weeks before needing to be changed. My optician explained that this is because they allow a lot of oxygen to the back of the eye, so the lense does not need to be removed to allow the eye to 'breath'. However, it is healthier to remove the lenses and clean them, keeping them in a storage case over night.
... ...day, and use a computer a lot of the time both at work and at home, and I have not had any problems with drying of the eyes or discomfort whatsoever.
I have mine on a pre pay plan from boots, which includes fluids, eye tests and aftercare, for £20 a month (2 pairs a month). However the lenses are available online at reduced prices. I recently purchased some to tide me over as I occasionally lose or tear a lense!

Advantages: Wear for 2 weeks then replace so always feel like they are new Disadvantages: None that i can think of
The Johnson & Johnson AcuvueAdvance are the best disposible contactlenses that i have tried, (and i've tried a quite a few).
They come in a blue and white little box with a contact lens plunging into water on the front cover with the words AcuvueAdvance with Hydraclear written on it. There are 6 individual lenses all of the same prescription inside, each wrapped seperatley in its own little plastic case with a bump in the bottom of it that the lens fits very nicely into, this is filled with a solution to keep the lens clean and sterile prior to being opened. There is a foil style top which you need to carefully pull back to open it.
The lens is clear and feels and looks a bit like a thick clingfilm for want of a better description. They feel very comfortable to wear as i don't even realise that i have them in and have sometimes ...
Advantages: So comfortable you forget you're wearing them. Disadvantages: They cost more money than traditional soft lenses.
and you feel more aware of your contactlenses when usually you wouldn't feel them at all.
When you wear contactlenses, you have to attend regular aftercare appointments, usually yearly, just to check the health of your eyes and make sure you are getting on okay. My first yearly aftercare appointment with Boots was with a lovely lady, we had a good natter and I just happened to mention the discomfort I'd been suffering (for nearly two years!). She discussed a variety of different brands of contactlenses available that claimed to offer long lasting comfort. It would mean quite an increase in cost - I was paying £6.00 per month for Boots midwater lenses and the brands being offered started at £15.00 per month! I first tried AcuvueAdvance but didn't really find much improvement. I was then offered to try Acuvue Oasis (£20.00 per month!) but ...
