Advantages: Hydronic Stove, Thermostat controlled, Optiflame Log Effect, Up To 4Kw Heat Output Disadvantages: None
...The Dimplex Hydronic Stove MIR40 is a stylish flame effect fire place. A friend had this fitted in last year and it looks really good. This fireplace is a modern freestanding electricstove with hydronic heat exchanger.
The actual fireplace should be professionally fitted, in my friends case the place he bought it from included free fitting so that was ideal. The good thing about this fireplace is that there's no need to knock out your fireplace to fit this in. This electricfire requires a 13amp socket to plug into when installing it and the heat is provided by a fan heater and hydronic heat exchanger. The maximum heat output (electric fan) high 2Kw and 2Kw hydronic heat exchanger makes a total of 4Kw overall heat output.
Main features:
- Hydronic Stove, uses conventional wet central heating technology combined with electric fan...

Advantages: great for that iullusion of warmth from a real fire Disadvantages: it isnt a real fire
...on a visit to my mother recently, i noticed she had a new stove in the fireplace. I had to give it a closer inspection to realise it was actually an electricfire.
Having always wanted a 'real' fire, but not having a chimney in my appartment, i was very impressed with just how realistic the flame effect was on this unit. Of course when you take a close look, you can tell it is not a real cast iron stove, but it certainly gives that real fire feeling to a room, even without the heater element switched on.
I saw one on offer at a local DIY store, and so i bought one for myself based on what i had seen of my mothers.
The constuction is of a plastic coated sheet steel, which does a reasonable job of imitating Black cast iron finish, but it wont maintain its illusion on any close examination. The brass fittings are quite plastic looking...

...I bought this cooker when I moved 3 years ago. I wanted a double oven for those family sunday dinners, and a gas hob because I was fed up with my old electric hob taking ages to heat up.
I did a lot of research before choosing to buy a Stoves cooker, they seem to be one of the most reliable makes and good quality. It was an expensive buy but I thought it was worth it to get exactly what I wanted.
It is silver with smoked glass in the oven doors, the knobs are black and silver and it looks great.
This is a dual fuel cooker with electric ovens and gas hob, so you get the best of both worlds. The bottom oven is big enough for a 20lb turkey and is fan assisted. The top oven also contains the grill, and is not fan assisted.
The knobs are easy to turn and there is electronic ignition. The clock is easy to set and there is a timer...

I bought the Adam and Joe DVD as a present for my boyfriend knowing he'd enjoyed watching it back in the day (the show ran from 1996 to 2001). Although I enjoyed watching the series I wasn't expecting too much from the DVD as there were a few sketches... more
