Advantages: Nice clothes and friendly staff Disadvantages: A bit too pricey for me
Now Adams isn`t normally my first choice of shops when buying clothes for my kids, neither is any new shop come to that. I can`t really see the point in buying new clothes for children as they grow out of them so fast and new clothes are just too expensive. This is especially true of my 20 mth old daughter, who has been on one continuous growth spurt since she was born, and is now not far short of my 4 yr old.

Doing my usual Tesco shop one day though, I just happened to glance through the window of my local Adams shop where I spotted the most gorgeous little fairy outfits that you`ve ever seen. Now I just couldn`t resist these for my two daughters, and they`ll make a wonderful christmas present, but I had to act quick though because they were selling like hot cakes.
So in I went to check out they had the right sizes and nearly had a heart attack when I spied the price tag. But what the heck, christmas is only once a year, and a bloomin good job it is too. The dresses themselves were £14 each, but you can`t buy a fairy dress without buying the wings(£4.99), wands(2.99), and halos(2.99), now can you. Don`t forget that this was all times 2 as well so it did tot up to more than I`d have liked to have spent.
I had a quick glance round the rest of the store, even though there was no way I was buying anything else. Everything is set out neat and tidy, arranged according to age, and all the boys stuff is separated from the girls stuff, and the older stuff is separated from the baby stuff, so it`s really easy to find what you`re looking for. Adams only cater for children up to 10 years of age, but some of the clothes are pretty large so you`d still be able to find something for a smaller child who is over this age.
They also sell quite a big range of childrens` shoes considering how small the shop is. When I say small, I mean small, this store isn`t that much bigger than my living room. There are a few seats dotted around at the end of the store, this makes it much easier for children trying on shoes rather than sitting on the floor. Not that it would`ve mattered as the shop is carpeted and the carpet is extremely clean considering there`s slobbering kids in and out all day, not to mention buggies with muddy wheels.
Now as I`ve mentioned, this isn`t the cheapest of shops, but it is cheaper than shops such as Mothercare. Kids` shoes start off at around £8 which is pretty reasonable, and they do last, and I know because I have bought my son his school shoes from here a few times in the past.
Because this is a small shop there were only two members of staff working and they were extremely helpful and friendly. When it came to paying the woman behind the till asked if I`d like to apply for a store card as it was 20% off everthing you purchased for 3 days.
Usually when it comes to store cards I`d decline the offer outright as these are the sort of things that can end you up in a lot of debt. This time though I decided to apply because 20% off would save me quite a bit off my bill, and after all it was only a one off purchase that I`d be able to pay off in full when my bill came through the post.
Filling in the form and getting it accepted took about 10 minutes, and while I was doing this the the other woman offered to watch the kids for me. This wasn`t an easy task she`d taken on either, for as well as blowing up balloons for the 3 of them, she also had to keep chasing after my youngest daughter who has a fascination for running out of stores in the blink of an eye.
Once I`d been accepted for a store card I was given my till receipt and all the bumph that usually comes with these things, and my goods were folded up nicely into a large adams carrier bag, which incidentally are pretty thick so there`s no chance of the handles ripping.
So off we went with the children clutching tightly to their balloons, and the friendly staff bidding us a happy christmas, and we all lived happily ever after. Well we almost did, apart from the fact that all the way round tescos I had to listen to the chorus of "is that dress for me and can I wear it when I get home?", from my 4yr old, and me having to explain that santa was coming to pick it up when she went to bed. As well as this there was also the moan from my son of "how come they`ve got something and I haven`t, it`s not fair". Well it can`t be a bed of roses all the time.
It`s a good job I went when I did because the following day all the fairy outfits had completely sold out. Now this is also where sods-law is likely to step in, you just watch, I bet I see something similar for 10p when I go to a car boot sale next week.
...I had a choice of Adams or Ethel Austin’s locally – no contest really! As soon as my local store opened I signed up for their store card, and started reaping the rewards that day with a percentage knocked off my purchases. It wasn’t long before the card arrived and I was surprised to see how many other outlets accepted my new “duet” card. These range from Millets and Partners to JJB Sport and Miss Selfridges, you can even buy tickets for events and ... ...clothes and the trousers from Adams have been among the better ones that I have tried. Up until now that is. Last August saw me buying school uniforms for two totalling six pairs of trousers and six polo tops. The tops are still going strong, the trousers on the other hand have been a disappointment. The first time Matthew wore one pair he ended up coming home in his P.E shorts as the seam had ripped below the zip. My first reaction was to blame ...

Advantages: good quality Disadvantages: not find it yet
...My experience with Adams started about 4 years ago, when my son has been born.
In that time, I was trying every kids shop to find the best one. After buying clothes from different shops, I got to conclusion that the Adams is the best and suits my need.
The cloths are very good quality- I never find it any little holes or marks on them.
***
My shop situated is in city centre and is very easy to get to it. When I walk in to the shop, I can feel ... ...£35, postage is free.
Adams children wear are always of the highest quality, design and fashion ability. They are nearly always 100% cotton and machine washable.
In my opinion, any clothes I bought from Adam never went smaller after wash.
The clothes are quite expensive but they are a good quality
Prices for: ** Baby set are around £8-£18
**baby tops are around £3-£10
**bodysuits and sleep suits are around £4-£18
** Toddler up to £25…

...their clothes so quickly, then Adams is well worth a look.... if you can find anything you actually like well enough to purchase, then you would be on to a winner!
They always seem to have items on special offer; sales/ buy 1 get 1 half price/ BOGOF and the like.

If you have a Sainsbury's Nectar Card, you can also use it in Adams, as they are Partners in this scheme. You can get points on your shopping as well as redeem your Nectar Points here.

Advantages: School fleeces are good Disadvantages: poor selection of sizes
...and used to shop in ADAMS years ago when my son was a baby.I think that the whole package of this shop is poor, the layout in my local store is awful, the baby clothes are not the easiest to reach considering we have a baby in pram with us.You have to get past the tills which has customers standing and as its narrow you usually end up with some clothes from the older section somehow attatched to you or the pram!when you finally do reach the baby stuff ... ...selection of sizes,i think that for the quality of most of the clothes is not the greatest(except the school fleeces i will get to that though),i understand that stores cant have all sizes all the time ,but they must have a slow turnover of stock cos if i have seen something i like i might go back the next week and find that its still not available in the size i need, asking to order anything, im greeted with a shop assistant who couldnt care less ...

Advantages: easycare, hardwearing, good value Disadvantages: none
...a lot of clothes. Adams is a major chain with branches in most town centres, so they are readily available, wherever you live. They also have franchises in some to the larger Sainsbury's supermarkets so you can buy clothes along with your weekly shop.
There is a wide range of outfits and single items to suit all my kids in bright colourful designs that the kids don't object to wearing. The material is hardwearing and washes easily. The clothes maintain ... ...trousers within hours of the first wearing. Adams seem able to survive her abuse much longer so now she gets to wear nice trousers which is a change to the jeans she previously had to wear.
A big thumbs up from all of us - Thank you Adams ...

Advantages: Special offers and Sales! Friendly Staff. Disadvantages: Those damned coin operated toys that children ride on!
AdamsAdams is a children's clothing shop, there is bound to be one in most large towns and cities throughout the UK and now stores are popping up in Europe and Asia! There are now over 400 stores in total with over 300 of those in UK alone. A far cry from the days when Amy Adams opened her terraced house in Birmingham selling baby clothes way back in 1933!
Amy opened up 3 stores shortly afterwards and 40 yrs later she joins in partnership with Foster Brothers and a further 30 stores open within a couple of years. The business continues to grow today, going from strength to strength.
Adams sells children's clothing from babies to 10 yr olds. The shops are usually well laid out with a section dedicated to each age group 0-12mths 1-3 yrs and 4-10yrs and also separated into girls and boys wear. My local Adams is a very small ...
Advantages: Reasonable prices Disadvantages: Not many branches left now, not a great deal of babywear
Well, by the time I'd had a baby & was ready to start shopping at Adams the chain had reported problems & many stores were set to close. My local branch had in fact only just re-opened after several years of being out of my town. It is still open, I think because it is so new compared to many of the older stores, and I have popped in several times over the past few months. The store itself is clean, bright, uncluttered and modern looking - perhaps this is since it's so new - I couldn't comment on other branches.
I always head to the bottom of the store where the baby ranges are located. As usual there is a smaller range for boys than girls, but all the basics are catered for at reasonable to average prices. I haven't bought much there - a few basic tops & a lovely blue & white striped cardigan. I find on the whole that a lot ...
Advantages: Cute look, low price Disadvantages: Very poor quality
I purchased a pair of "Summer Love" sunglasses at ADAMS on Thursday. They are aimed at toddlers with an age range of 1 - 3 years. They look extremely cute and the price is £3 which is reasonable. The glasses dark tinted and are 100% UV protected (conforming to EN 1836:2005), a very important feature.
The material of the frame is 100% plastic apart from the two small metal screws holding the hinged arms.
The frame is pink and yellow and the suround of the lenses is in a pink polka dot flower shape.
Unfortunately, the item did not even last one day!!! After unwrapping the glasses, my 16-month-old daughter wanted of course to try them on straight away. So I unfolded the glasses to put them on her nose and OH NO! ... One of the hinged arms came off!!!
Now, if an adult cannot even put the sunglasses on a child without them ...
