Advantages: It's an excellent album Disadvantages: a-ha should be better than excellent
I may be first to review this new album by my beloved "Norwegian pop legends" a-ha on Ciao (and rightly so, heh-- see my "epic" earlier a-ha reviews) but it's got a fair old bit of coverage in the UK media for its release this week. The general reception seems to have been very good, apparently someone on Radio 2 made it Album of the Week or something, and the release was mentioned in the BBC's 6Music News podcast. I was a fan of their 80's music, who couldn't love 'Take On Me'???!! if you're expecting this album to be like that, you will be pleasantly suprised. There are some real gems on this album, including my favourite the lead song 'Analogue'.
1. Celice - I think this is an unusual song to open, as it is the worst song and most annoying one on the album! If you think the album can only go downhill from this, you are very wrong. it gets better and better!
2. Don't Do Me Any Favours - a nice guitar, catchy song. It has very thought provoking lyrics and is a nice summer tune.
3. Cosy Prisons - This is a nice slow tune, with just a piano and acoustic guitar accompanying Morten Harkets voice. he always hits those high notes perfectly, and this doesnt change in ...
