Pop the drive into a free bay, attach the IDE and power cables, and re-assemble your PC. Scratch head and wonder where all those spare parts have come from (this last bit is optional).
Now comes the slightly less easy bit, if you're running Windows 2000. When you attempt to install the bundled software, Adaptec EasyCD Creator 4, you'll get told that it's not Win 2K compatible, but rather helpfully points you to a web address where you can download an upgrade. This is the point where you discover that Adaptec would like you to part with £30 for that upgrade. Personally I kind of object to buying a piece of kit and then finding I need to shell out another chunk of cash just so that I can use it; it's not as if Windows 2000 is some rare and exotic OS after all. The upshot is that Adaptec lost themselves a customer and I use Nero instead...

Advantages: It's a good combo drive Disadvantages: check what media you use with it.
...Firstly, this model is a rebadge of a Ricoh MP9060A. This drive is DVD&CD/RW drive, that is the reason on which I bought it. It was only a bit more than a regular CDRW. This drive was recommended in a group test in Personal Computer World. It was the best of the Combo drives. The performance was better than the Ricoh MP9060A, because of a updated firmware.
The drive writes CDRs at 6 speed, CDRW at 4 speed. It reads the DVDs at 4 speed, and the CD-ROMS at 24 speed. In my opinion, in terms of reading, you really don't need anymore than a 24 speed, any higher is just to show off.
The Drive comes with Audio cables, manuals, and the support posters. Software supplied comes courtesy of Adaptec, with Easy CD Creator, CD Copier Deluxe and DirectCD, and few other things present on the CD. Also there is a CDRW disc included.

...Finally, just when I was begining to give up on ever attaching my SCSI drive to my system, along came the answer to my prayers. A neat fitted in seconds, no need to open the case solution; the Adaptec USB to SCSI connector.
This piece of electronic genius allows you to connect virtually any SCSI device directly to your PC through its USB port. It works and is brilliant. It just plugs in and away it goes. Everything is supplied and with easy to follow directions.
It is not cheap though, expect to pay about $50 ($90) for it but compared with a SCSI card & cables it probably works out the same and is definately 100% less hastle than trying to configure an already stuffed full to the brim machine.

I have written a review on a similar product, it was hdmi connectors to hdmi connector so I could only connect my laptop up to the TV. The five meter long Hama cable has hdmi connectors and DVI connectors.
