Advantages: Sturdy. Good Quality. Disadvantages: Compatible with SecureConnect hard drives only.
...install procedures, connecting this lead was very simple. With the popular IDE cables you could easily forget which way round it should be plugged in and have problems booting up, but I just connected this between the HD and the SerialATA plug on my motherboard and my computer recognised the device with no problems.
The lead has a 7 pinSerialATA connector coupled to a 15pinSerialATApower plug/slot on one end – this plugs into the HD, and the other end is a 7 pinSerialATA to plug into your motherboard or backplane.
Apparently the cable provides a 500% stronger, safer connection. Now I don’t know about you, but the cables in my computer never really get pulled or tugged around that much, in any circumstances. Advantages: Very quick data transfer Disadvantages: Produces quite alot of heat
...A moderate to advanced user. First off the good things, its easy to install, with 4 screws and the wright cables connected your sorted!! The drive comes with two different power connectors fitted to the driver as standard ie. It has a standard power port that you can use straight from your power supply or as i got was a normal to serial-atapower adapter with my motherdoard. So far i have had my drive for 4 months. I've had no problems what so ever either!! I am about to get another 2 same drives but with a greater capacity!! With a 1.5 MB broadband line and only 120GB to save to it soon fills up! I also have a home network with another computer, the speed of data transfer is amazing. At first i was taken back by it, now its just normal tho, anything else is sub-normal!! Deffinetly reccomend this drive!...
