The Adaptec 5400S is the most reliable PCI RAID solution available, with advanced features like PCI hot-plug, hot-spare and hot-swap disk drive support. In addition, the Adaptec 5400S supports RAID levels 0, 1, 0/1, 5, 0/5, and JBOD. A battery back-up module is standard to provide additional fault tolerance. The Adaptec 5400S also offers Online Capacity Expansion and RAID Level Migration (morphing). Adding capacity and modifying fault tolerance levels provide the ease and flexibility necessary to modify storage systems as businesses grow and needs change. Users can configure multiple arrays per disk drive, each with its own RAID level, stripe size, and file system. Investments in legacy drive technology are protected with the ability to fully utilize the capacity of new, larger disk drives in the same arrays as older, smaller disk drives.
