Adcom GFA 565 at Pioneer Looking to buy a flat screen TV? KURO gives you the best picture quality you can get. Now blacker than ever and with extreme contrast. See for yourself.
Advantages: Superb picture, shines with audio too Disadvantages: Looks flimsy, feels flimsy, nasty remote
..., CD-RW, CD-ROM, DVD-RW, SVCD and JPEG encoded picture files.
Should you be lacking an AV Receiver, do not worry as the 565 comes with it's own DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder. If you do have a AV Receiver then take the chance to use the same 6 channel speaker analogue outputs to listen to full bandwidth, zero compression sound with added muscle from your amp. I was startled at the new life this player brought to my music collection.
Sailing that precarious line between too sharp and clinical and too soft and imprecise, the 565's audio capabilities should be shouted from the rooftops, just think what the top end Pioneer decks are capable of.
The 565 is classified as middle ground for the DVD market and the features and set ups of the machine are guaranteed to overwhelm an entry level buyer. It has menus galore and infinite ways to set...

Advantages: Those looks, playback quality, awesome picture. Disadvantages: No composite output
...I bought this player pretty much when it first arrived on the scene.
Breathtaking looks, it also offered the functionalty of a player which would not needed to be upgraded for quite a while. It covers the major codes Dolby digital and dts and mpeg. Whilst some may complain that it has no internal decoding I would disagree as most internal players decoding is NOT going to be as good as a standalone.
Personally I have mine decoded by a Meridian 565 7.1 Processor which I think is far superior to any decoding done on any player. Once chipped this player is a beauty. Picture qualty is sharp and I have not had any problems watching any movie. I had heard of lip sync problems and I believe it happens as for a few seconds I get this problem on R2 disc L.A. Confidential. Apart from this not a glitch in sight. Sound is awesome. It plays VCD...

Advantages: Plays everything you throw at it Disadvantages: Not a great deal
...Although this DVD player has been around for a while now there are not many players that can live up to that of the Pioneer DV-575A-S. I have the 565A as the living room DVD Player and I was so impressed with it I went out and bought the 575A-S for my bedroom. At a lower price, around £100, and the same great performance it was hard not to.
This little DVD player packs a powerful punch as plays all manner of discs, including DVD-Audio and SACD (Super Audio CD). With a heap of connections on the back such as 5.1 audio out, component video out and s-video you will be hard pushed to find a device it can't connect to!
The Pioneer is supplied without a SCART lead, which is actually a blessing. To get the full potential from the 575 you need a decent lead, I use a £50 QED SCART lead and the colours are nothing short of outstanding. When...
