...as a full-blown mouth ulcer. Adcortyl is most effective during the preliminary stages of the ulcer, which means that I always ensure that I have a tube with me, whether at home, in a meeting or away on business. The preparation is particularly effective at night, probably because you aren’t talking, eating or drinking, but it still does some good during the day.

Adcortyl really is a very curious substance, and when you first use it, it takes some practice to apply it properly. ...that I hadn’t tried before, Adcortyl in Orabase. I wasn’t keen to spend my hard earned cash on yet another “miracle cure”, but I thought I would give it a go.

...up with this little gem – Adcotyl in Orabase for mouth ulcers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
What is it?
Adcotyl belongs to the steroid medicine group, because it contains the steroid called triamcinolone acetonide. It is designed to reduce the inflammation and well as the pain - so basically speaking this heals. How is it used?
You first need to spike the tube with the end of the cap to break the seal. You put a small amount on a clean, dry finger and smear thinly on the ulcer. It is a paste that you smear, not rub, on the ulcer and it forms a protective seal. It will stick to the wet surfaces of the mouth. The pharmacist explained that it is designed not to dissolve in saliva. It is a paste so feels sticky and tacky in the mouth. You...
