I remember watching the television adverts for the Adez soya juices months ago and thinking I have to try that. I love fruit juices and always like to try new ones on the market. So the next time we went to Tesco a few months ago, I spotted Adez on buy one get one free (£1.69 Tesco Price per carton) so my family and I tried all three flavours. The three flavours Adez currently produces are Orange & Peach, Mango & Apricot and Pineapple & Passionfruit. The overwhelming favourite in our house is definitely Pineapple & Passionfruit but recently I have been enjoying the taste of Orange & Peach.
After about two months of solidly buying Adez weekly from Tesco - it was and normally is buy one get one free although sometimes they take the offer off (boo!), I decided that I would reduce my intake and try other juices but not because I was sick of the taste of Adez at all! However, last week as I was returning home via the trains, the kind people at the Evening Standard were giving away a free full size 1 litre carton of Adez juice, which has re-fuelled my addiction for Adez Orange & Peach. My review will mostly be on Adez Orange & Peach but many of the points apply to the other two flavours as well. The flavour contains 20% of fruit juices from concentrate which I realise is not exactly perfect and 1.1% of soya protein isolate. The company makes a huge fuss about the benefits of soya and that the vitamins and minerals in their juices help maintain a strong body.
A 250ml class of Adez Orange & Peach provides 38.3% of the Vitamin C RDA (recommended daily allowance), 37.5% of the Vitamin B6 RDA, 37.5% of the Calcium RDA and 37.6% of the Magnesium RDA. If you are anything like me and fail to get many of the vitamins and minerals into your daily diet, this is a good easy way of achieving some of the RDAs a day. In terms of calories, I think this juice is perfectly acceptable, in a 250ml serving there are 80 calories, 1.0 grams of fat of which 0.3 grams is saturated and 0.13 grams of salt. However, as much as I like the juice, one of the reasons I reduced my intake was because the Adez juices contain sugar and sweeteners, which would make my dentist very unhappy!
One of the reasons I wanted to try Adez was because it is dairy free. For about a year, if I had a glass of milk in the morning, I started feeling very sick until about lunchtime. However, whenever I have Adez in the morning, that odd feeling has never occurred. The soya used in the juice is non-GM and as they argue on the carton 'Soya is low in saturates and cholesterol free.'
The colour of the Orange and Peach flavour is a slightly odd yellow colour but it is wonderfully refreshing, and very fruity. I have tried many juices that are Orange and another flavour yet the strength of the orange flavour overcomes the other fruit. However, with Adez, I can really taste the peach just as well as the orange. I have found no bitter aftertaste; rather the lovely flavour stays in my mouth for about five minutes. My family adore the Pineapple and Passionfruit flavour, which I find is equally as nice as Orange and Peach. The Adez juices are suitable for vegetarians. Once opened the carton can be kept for about five days in the fridge but in our house, one carton lasts about three days maximum! You have to really shake well before use as with most fruit juices and the Adez lid is very strong so there should not be a mess everywhere once you've shaken it. I have, with a different juice, absentmindedly shaken the carton without realising how loose the lid was and thus had to spend about five minutes cleaning the kitchen surface and my arm!
One of the only negatives I have is that there always seems to be a small amount of juice left at the bottom of the carton that I simply cannot get to! Also, I am not very fond of the Mango & Apricot flavour. I adore mangos and mango juice so I assumed that I would really like this flavour. However, when I fist tried it, it really did not like the blend - perhaps it was the apricot - I'm not too sure but I would not recommend that flavour.
The Adez (www.adez.com) website is a lot of fun, there is a section in 'your own Adez' to 'blend' two different fruits and recommend your flavour to Adez - I recommended Strawberry and Kiwi which is different! Overall, I would recommend Adez to anyone who wants to try something different and especially if you do not intake dairy products, this product is a great source of calcium! I love the taste of Adez but I still think that they should make a sugar free version and rely on the natural sweetness of the juices.
Advantages: Good nutritional value Disadvantages: Taste revolting
...a month ago, I noticed Adez on offer at Asda. Being one to never pass up a bargain, I got one of each of the three different kinds of flavours; Pineapple and Passion fruit, Mango and Apricot and Orange and Peach. My son sat in the trolley with the Pineapple and Passion fruit. (Pineapple had been his favourite thing in the whole world for at least four hours)
When we got home and after we had unpacked all the groceries - my boy is a big help except ... ...***A bit about Adez***

...first time I heard about Adez was when I have been doing one of the Ciao Surveys about a month ago.
One day I went to Sainsbury's looking for ready made sandwiches. Instead of Sandwiches I saw ADEZ - I did not know what it is, but remembered the name from Ciao Survey.

One day I came home and felt very thirsty. I opened my fridge and saw that there is nothing left but Adez. I opened up the lid and drunk it from the pack. The taste was quite nice actually - not absolutely delicious, but nice, somewhat refreshing and light. I don't like milk and I am tired of juices; this drink is something different. I have decided to keep for myself ...

Advantages: Scrummy AND healthy! Disadvantages: Looks a little odd
...there's 2 reviews already on Adez and they are both on the whole completely slating it! Well I am gonna buck the trend because I actually like it. I'm sure a lot of people do actually...
Firstly, yeah Adez seems to be advertised on all bus shelters and train stations, and the adverts are splashed all over magasines and on the TV, but this is only to get it noticed and NOT as some people think, for them to boast about being the best supremely healthy ... ...actually I think they have a very good image- clean cut, no stupid adverts or "cuteness" to help sell their product. And another thing, they advertise EXACTLY what they are- a simple blend of both fruit and soya, that is both tasty and good for you.
The drink contains a blend of fruit juices, soya protein and essential nutrients including vitamins C and B6, magnesium and calcium. When you drink a glass of it, you are getting close to 40% of these ...
