---Introduction---

As some of you may already know, I am a very keen tennis player. I feel that in order to play the game to your best ability, the correct clothing, footwear and equipment should be used. Tennis shoes are different from other trainers in many ways. They are designed to give the ankles a great amount of support and protection, because the feet have to move in many different directions on the tennis court. With their support, they do also offer me the movement that I need to change direction.

---Durability---

I have had these tennis trainers since November of last year. They have already started to show signs of wear and tear. When most tennis players serve, they drag the toe area of their trailing foot along the floor. This has caused a gaping hole to surface in the front of my right shoe. I would have thought that Adidas would have taken that fact into consideration and strengthened the toe area of the shoe.

The tread in the underside of the shoe has worn down an awful lot. This makes playing on astroturf a bit more difficult. A lot of the grip is lost and you can easily lose your footing. This can be very dangerous and you can pick up a serious injury if you fall awkwardly.

---Style---

The styling of the shoes is actually very good. They have managed to incorporate the special technological aspects into the shoe, without ruining the look. Adidas have managed to create a good balance and contrast between the sole area and the rest of the shoe. The 'air holes' on the top aren't too fancy and blatant but they do their job well of keeping the feet cool.

This particular tennis shoe, comes in three different colour schemes. The new set to come out out are all black, which are possibly the nicest looking of all. The ones that I have, are mainly black with a grey sole and odd flashes of luminous green. The third type, are mostly black with large amounts of red.

---Comfort---

These shoes are extremely comfortable, once you have worn and played them in a bit. They are well cushioned and padded to protect your feet went you perform sudden changes in direction. My feet have never been sore or become swollen in any way so that are good for the feet. I have used some shoes in the past that have left me with uncomfortable blisters and sores. These trainers are perfect for those long matches on a hot day. The inner soles on this shoe are also removable so you can adjust them if you need to.

---Control---

It is easy to change direction and they are ideal for short sprints. When you have reached the hitting area for the shot, these shoes give you a firm and steady base from which to hit the shot. I find that they almost save me a split second and give me that small bit of extra time to think about the shot execution.

---Value for Money---

These shoes cost me £60, which is a bargain for shoes of this quality. Most other tennis shoes sell for around £85-£90. You get a great pair of tennis shoes for your money but they don't seem to last long. I am already in the process of replacing mine and as I have said previously, I only purchased them around 6 months ago. I wanted this pair to last me at least a year. The left shoe is in much better condition than the right, but you need two good shoes to play in.

---Reccomendation---

If you want a very good pair of tennis shoes for a relatively small price then you should buy these. If you don't drag your foot when serving then you may find that you don't have any problems with wear in the toe region. If you play on grass or clay courts, then they should have a much longer lifetime than playing on astroturf and hard surfaces.

Well I know that these have now been replaced! At that price it’s a shame they didn’t last a bit longer! Jane X
