As the woman of the house, I felt that I should have at least some say in this process. "Hold on," I replied. "At least give me a chance to have a look!" That meant waiting until the weekend, of course. Meanwhile, I was strongly lobbied on behalf of the Maytag Neptune: ~ It was very efficient, he said. It would save on water and electricity. That sounded good to me. No issue there. . . . ~ He liked the front-loading approach. I wasn't so sure: I liked my old top loader. Advantages: Very easy to use
Disadvantages: clothes become very linty and bobbled and loads become unbalanced

...Sorry to burst your bubble Jeff but the 10 year and 20 year warranties just don't exist. I know this because I have contacted Admiral today to arrange an engineer because my machine has become unbalanced and irrespective of the size or type of load, it goes crazy during the spin cycle. Admiral staff told me the machine has a one year warranty and Maytag machines carry a two year warranty. They are shocked to think that their machines are being sold on the basis of the great warranty. I suggested they should contact their suppliers and take them to task. I bought my machine from www.electricshop.com which has since gone out of business - wonder why. By the way Admiral want £120 just to look at the thing.... Read review
