A Broadside against lager!
Advantages A good pint
Disadvantages Perhaps too good!
Adnams Broadside is a quintessential example of a good British real ale.
It looks attractive in the glass, has a good head on it (but not a fluffy artificial one by any stretch of the imagination) and it has a good, clean scent to it. You can smell that it is made from good, honest hops and yeast! The flavour of Adnams Broadside is hard to describe.
Strong? Yes, but there is an underlying tenderness, too.Sweet? Indeed it is somewhat sweet, but there's a good and decent undertone of the bitterness of the hops that holds everything else in equal balance.
Adnams Broadside is like all Adnams beers. Well worth seeking out. I have a bottle of Adnams SSB to be enjoyed later. But that will be for another review!
