Adobe Audition 1.5 Complete package

I was a bit dubious the first time I ran Adobe Audition. It is a new version of Cool Edit Pro , which in its own right was a great piece of software , but was not aimed at the professional digital recording and production market. Audition is stepping up to the next level , competing with the big names and still being available (and affordable) to the average digital music enthuisiast. The layout of all the system is simple enough , possibly even to easy looking. It only took maybe one hour of messing about to work out how to run the program in a reasonably decent fashion. Being Pro Tools based , it shouldnt take a pro tools user long to figure out whats going on. It is something of a lite cersion of Pro Tools. It wasnt perticularly suprising that it ran at a great speed. I was only using a PIII 2.5Ghz with 1024MB RAM and it ran at an amazing speed. It comes with plenty of effects , plug-ins and filters. One major gripe is that it doesnt support many VSt plugins. There are enough effects and that to keep the average home recorder/producer going but the lack of VSt support is a kind of shot in the foot when it comes to racing with the big boys. Also , the lack of a MIDI sequencer can get a bit irritating , you have to run your MIDI in another program and export it across to Audition. These details are not enough to prevent me from recommending this software. All in all its an amazing piece of sofware which bridges the gap between loop based home production software and the RAM eating power house software that runs big studios. If you are keen to get into the world of digital music production , or are looking for an affordable , easy to use piece of software , this is the one!
