I use adobe audition 1.5 to record music and the quality is very good for a home based studio. It offers a lot from mixing & mastering tracks within the program and it is very easy to use. Their is no difficulty within this program what so ever, most people say that pro tools is industry standard but if you can't afford pro tools then adobe audition 1.5 is your next best multitrack recording software. You don't need a hardware for this program to work all you need is a computer and a mic. In my opinion I believe this is the best program to record with. I've recorded plenty of songs and instrumentals with adobe audition and all of my tracks sound like professional quality without any top of the line equipment. Don't knock this program before you try it.
