If anyone is looking for a good digital camera package then this could be the one for you. There are a broad range of packages that come with most digital cameras these days but most of them don’t allow you to do much with your photographs. The typical one that most people get is Paint Shop Pro 4/5. When my family bought a digital camera we were given Paint Shop Pro 4 as an extra bonus. Well, to be honest there wasn’t really much point.
We got hold of another package that allows you to manipulate and change the photos in hundreds of different ways. In this opinion I will take a look at the two applications and consider why I like Adobe PhotoDeluxe better than Paint Shop Pro.
Paint Shop Pro is a very basic program. When manipulating photographs you can only do a variety of basic things such as blur or tile and a few other basic things. I am currently studying for my Art GCSE and I had to do a photo project. I wanted to use my digital camera but to make it look different I needed to manipulate photos. Paint Shop Pro allowed me to do the basic things but nothing out of the ordinary.
On the other hand when my dad showed me this program it was incredible. The different things that I could do to my photos was much more complex and the photos changed drastically. For example I could add extra features to people and change there features. I could add ripples and movements to the photographs. It also allowed me to change the colour schemes around and take away certain parts of the photo. I had one particular photo of a computer but it had lots of cables coming out of the sides. With this new program I was able to remove the cable completely. This made the photo look much more professional.
There is a lot of competition in this market but when I consider Paint Shop Pro and Adobe PhotoDeluxe that definitely comes out on top.

I have both applications ( Paint Shop Pro 7.2 ) and whilst I agree that Adobe is superior, I actually prefer Paintshop Pro ..probably since I have grown and developed with it, having always had a copy of it on my PC for the last 9 years...but for the more inticate stuff I do use photodeluxe...Nice Op though....Andrew

Sounds good, thanks for letting us know about it :)
Advantages: Great for Image reduction, it's free in many cases, loads of useful editing options, good for home users. Disadvantages: Saving images takes too long, programme often locks up
