Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 plus Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 software combines two powerful, intuitive products in one affordable package. Edit, organize, and show your photos in creative and entertaining ways. And create home videos like a famous director. Plus, use both products to burn your slide shows to DVD and design custom DVD menus that can be saved as templates to use again and again.
Advantages: Great selection tools, pan & zoom in slide shows, price, printed manual Disadvantages: file browser gone
...AdobePhotoshopElements4 aims to be everything the photographer wants for tweaking and fixing their images. Whilst the professionals prefer its more expensive big brother Photoshop CS, PhotoshopElements isn't to be sniffed at and offers 80% of the power for 10% of the price whilst making many tasks much easier.
The biggest surprise coming from version 3 is that the file browser has gone. Adobe, what are you thinking? Well, it's clear what they're thinking, they want you to use the Photoshop Album interface which merged in to PhotoshopElements with version 3. It's actually a very powerful interface and lets you import and catalogue your images with ease and flexibility but sometimes, you just want to get down and dirty with the file system and the loss of a file browser hurts. Advantages: Fairly easy to use, and has all the features your likely to need for photo editing. Included tutorials. Technical Support. Disadvantages: It doesn't always work first time! It isn't wildly fast unless you have a very powerful PC. Closing and saving files is a bit torturous.
...My anticipation was high as I loaded the AdobePhotoshopElements software. After all, all the reviews had been good, and previous Photoshop software worked like a dream.

I tried everything to fix the problem, including reloading Photoshop, removing anything remotely resembling 'photo software', reinstalling Norton, updating windows XP, resetting my screen refresh rate, and reducing my hardware graphics accelerator.
Then after a month of bemoaning this waste of money, I called Adobe.......
A very helpful tech support person, talked me through some checks, and then asked something...

Advantages: Packed full of features, Great fun, Improve your digital images Disadvantages: You need memory!!
...~~~~ Overview ~~~~
AdobePhotoshopElements 5 is a software package used to manipulate and enhance digital images, whether they are from your digital camera, scanned images or pictures from the internet. I mainly use the software to improve the pictures I take with my digital camera; altering the contrast, brightness, colour saturation etc, and also cropping and enlarging images. I also regularly alter pictures for documents and other applications, to make them smaller by compressing the images so they don't take as much disk space up.
The program is split into two main functions:
~ Editor: Allows photos and images to be enhanced and edited using a range of different tools.
~ Organiser: Allows your photos and images to be organised using several different methods.
~~~~ Editor ~~~~
The editor is very versatile, offering a whole...
I have recently been roped in to doing video editing for a local paper, and a little video recording and taking the odd photo. Has a lot to do with marrying the Content Editor and Web guru.
