..., but if you are in a business that requires this then this is the solution for you. It is so safe and you can feel confident that if anybody tries to alter documents, that they won't be able to. Advantages: Allows documents to be viewed on different platforms and operating systems, protects intellectual property, reduces use of paper and saves money for businesses, compresses data for effective storage
Disadvantages: You can't copy data from pdf files which might be a problem for some people, acrobat reader 5.0 had quite a few bugs

On the Adobe acrobat website I saw that organisations such as the Civil Service, were gaining considerable benefits from using acrobat. Another great advantage of using adobe acrobat is that it means less paper is used, therefore important documents could be archived in a computer based filing system rather than a paper based filing system. The pdf files created by distiller are considerably smaller in size than they would be in any other format such as Excel spreadsheet format.
