...Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 aims to be everything the photographer wants for tweaking and fixing their images. Whilst the professionals prefer its more expensive big brother Photoshop CS, Photoshop Elements isn't to be sniffed at and offers 80% of the power for 10% of the price whilst making many tasks much easier. The biggest surprise coming from version 3 is that the file browser has gone. Adobe, what are you thinking? Well, it's clear what they're thinking, they want you to use the Photoshop Album interface which merged in to Photoshop Elements with version 3. It's actually a very powerful interface and lets you import and catalogue your images with ease and flexibility but sometimes, you just want to get down and dirty with the file system and the loss of a file browser hurts. Like other professional programs this on is not cheap, you are looking at paying around £600 for it, but I think its well worth the price tag. You can get a demo of this program so you can try before you buy. This program is very easy to install, its available for either a PC or Mac, and roughly takes around 10 minutes to install. Advantages: Packed full of features, Great fun, Improve your digital images
Disadvantages: You need memory!!

...the amount of memory Adobe uses through the tools-options menu, so that the program can un a little faster if required, however I would strongly recommend that you consult the instructions before doing so, to make sure you fully understand what you are doing. The software is dead ease to install on your computer, doesn't take too long and I don't even think you have to restart your computer afterwards!!! CAUTION: Be careful when purchasing a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 5, as some packages are upgrade versions ONLY, so an earlier version of Adobe Photoshop Elements is required. ~~~~ Conclusions ~~~~ Overall a fantastic package, reasonably priced at around £100, which is impressive when compared to other software packages of the same type.
