Advantages: Knowlegde of the islands before booking Disadvantages: none
...One of the most beautiful books to read and look at.....
I had previously done a review on the 2nd edition book, but being new to ciao then, I put it in the wrong category.
So here goes with the latest 3rd edition book.
The Author
Adrian Neville is a dedicated and pasionate maldive expert and has been blessed to be able to travel to the Maldives, visit and stay on the resort islands. This has to be my dream job....
His reviews in my opinion are excellent, we have visited several islands now and we do agree with his reports of them.
Many islands have been refurbished with have added rooms and water bungalows and spa facilities.
Some have even changed their names since the last book was published. So this was a welcomed and well awaited update.
The photographs and page layout are fantastic.
Aerial views of the islands, beaches, rooms...

Advantages: A hugely compelling read, especially if you're a zombie/vampire fan. Disadvantages: None
...When a plague of unknown origin turns the populace into vampires, only one man, Robert Neville, escapes infection. I Am Legend follows his struggle to not only survive but to retain his sanity. And his days are spent finding the lairs of the living dead and staking the vampires within. Not exactly what you'd call fun.
The book is written in the style of Neville's own diary - which superbly details the stresses placed upon Neville's mind. After all, he has no-one to talk to, and no matter how many vampires he kills, he has no real prospect of stopping the plague. All he can do is live - and is it even worth staying alive in a world where the dead walk? That and other questions are addressed in this deeply compelling...
