......My mum drives one of these and I've had a go in it a few times.
First impressions are this is a great looking car especially with the all glass roof down. The folding hardtop is pure theatre to watch, but makes this roadster one that you can use every day. Nice big wheels, and lots of little AMG touches make it look meaner than the standard SL.
The addition of a supercharger to its 5.5-litre V8 engine produces a truly awesome 500bhp. The SL55 will rocket to 62mph from rest in just 4.7 seconds and 100mph in ten dead. Stock UK cars are restricted to 150mph but most owners have their cars derestricted. Oh, and by the way, it's an automatic.
Inside, the SL driver sits deep in the cabin with the dashboard set low, giving a feeling more familiar to a Ferrari than a Mercedes-Benz. The handling is fantastic too, especially...
