Advantech proudly introduces its first ruggedized web tablet, the MobiPanel 100, a portable wireless Windows CE-based appliance combining data capture and communication technology. The MobiPanel 100 is designed to provide mobile professionals a real-time wireless solution to access information from remote databases via the Internet or an Intranet. The MobiPanel 100 is ideal for applications in retail, healthcare, warehousing, home networking, manufacturing process monitoring, hospitality, logistic support and on-site service. Featuring mobility and boundless communication, the latest 802.11b-based wireless technology has been built into the MobiPanel 100. It also maintains flexibility by allowing other WAN/WLAN and PCMCIA card adapters as optional items. To maximize its connectivity with peripherals like barcode scanners, printers, digital cameras, keyboard/mouse, projectors and monitors, the MobiPanel 100 is fully equipped with IR, USB, PS/2 VGA interface ports and RS-485/422/232 protocol COM ports. The high brightness 10.4" TFT LCD provides good visibility. It is especially ideal for displaying graphical content in web-based applications. This advanced LCD technology enables the MobiPanel 100 to function without sacrificing power consumption. The battery can last for 4-6 working hours on a one-time charge. The MobiPanel 100 is ruggedized and constructed for professionals working in harsh environments. Its magnesium housing and internal shock-absorbing design meets the industrial durability and field proved to withstand a 3-foot fall onto a concrete floor. The I/O ports, LCD panel and internal circuits of the MobiPanel 100 have been designed to resist spills and water damage. Advantech took it further by making it dust-resistant with a protected LCD, sealed ports and card slots for extra protection. These features all meet or exceed the IP53 standard.
Advantages: Good, hard-working USB modem Disadvantages: None
...When we signed up for AOL Broadband we were told that a modem would, naturally, be included as part of the package.
The modem that we received was a BT Voyager 100. The BT Voyager 100 is small and compact and -touch wood!- has never given us any cause for concern.
Hooking it up is very easy. Hey. If I can do it, so can almost anyone else! You plug a blue cable into the USB port on the modem. The yellow cable is then plugged into the BT ADSL MF50 line box which is plugged into the phone point. You load the software into the computer, and you are well away, as the saying goes.
With AOL the setting up process regarding the modem is virtually automatic so should not present you with any problems whatsoever.
The BT Voyager 100 is light in weight and, as I said before, compact in size and dimensions. It is just under 4.5 inches...

Advantages: Crisp, Clear sound, Nice blue power LED Disadvantages: Small size does limit bass depth, Need mains power
...Logitech have a history of doing things right.
From their first set of speakers many years ago (which I believe I owned) to models such as the huge, recent surround sound systems currently available, Logitech has always offered unprecendented quality and competitive pricing.
The S100s came in a rather inconspicuous brown box, packed in nice and neatly, and of course sealed with plastic bags.
Once out the box, you can immediately see the value you are getting. I paid £7.99 for my set, and in this day and age for that you either get two McDonald's meals, a cinema ticket, or these babies. I know which one I would pick!
The blue LED power indicator was the first thing that struck me as a great touch. The headphone socket shows that Logitech is thinking about functionality aswell as just looks, and the nice long cables ensure...

Advantages: Good clean relatively cheap printer Disadvantages: Slow
...The canon s100 is a good value for money printer. It is plug and play so you just plug it into your USB port and that is it, you dont have to install drivers or restart your computer. As usual canon has made a brilliant printer. The canon s100 can print alot of pages in a small cartridge and is small and can be fitted into the smallest of spaces.
The canon S100 is very stylish but also very reliable, it may not be able to stand up to laser printers or photo printers but it is less than a quarter of the price and for home use is all you will need unless you have exceptiponal circumstances.
This printer takes about 1 minute to print 1 full page of text. It takes about 2 minutes to print a colour photo. The S100's ink cartirdges can be as little as £2 each and last for a long time, this if you ask me is brilliant valiue for money as some...
