If you like writing and want to get read, blogs do the trick better than most writing sites. I tried my pen at writing in many areas and genre, and found that blogs meet my writing needs. They are easily read and deliver a person's diary or journal worldwide. You just need to know how!
First, find blog sites. There are literally hundreds of them. Some charge, but most are free. Some offer blogging tips.
Next, try to find your niche. Do you like journalism? Writing about sports? Entertainment? Sex??? The latter subject is what made blogging popular in the US. A political intern writes about her adventures with polititians, and then publishes a book!!! Basically a blog is something person that can be simple to controversial and beyond. I love writing about entertainment and the glitzy world and gossip. I google various sites and find the best in Britain!
To get read, a research of most searched keywords may help. Many sites offer the top searched words of the day or week. Example: If Britney Spears is up there and I mention her, I will be read because her name search will lead to my blog.
I often research news and blog it, and sometimes it doesn't appear in my local paper until 2 days later. I pretty much blog about many things. I love the controversial, and love to write about the world of entertainment and the fakeness that surrounds it.
Comments really don't matter, but I have noticed that some sites encourage it. Other sites let you comment if you want. Judging by MY reading to comment ratio at all my blogs, I get read a lot, but comments are far and in between. This seems to hold true with most other bloggers!
Here are a few blog sites that are free, but do offer upgrades for a price. There are many, many more!
