Since buying Age Of Mythology from PC World for an amazing £19.99 I was pleasently surprised at how similar the controls and graphics are with its previous program, age of empires. Age of Mythology has gone into more detail in nearly all the areas of the game, such as you can now pick a god and you are also awarded some magic spells from the god once you have researched the next level.
When I say level I mean this allows you to manufacture things cheaper, faster and also stronger.

The Scenarios are all different and you are able to choose a level of difficulty if you are really struggling with the game I suggest the "Easy" option :-). As with Age of Empires you are able to create many random maps to play on against 3 enemy's at any one time. This version also allows you to edit a map to your own design and play on it also.

The game is made by Microsoft so as you can imagine it is very well manufactured. This is definately a game for those people who enjoy strategic battles against enemy tribes/nations. I dont think the longetivity/Expected longetivity is really relevant as many people play games differently from everybody else and everybody is at different levels, but I managed to complete the game in roughly 2 weeks and I was only spending a few evenings a week on it although I have played Age of Empires I and II so thats also an advantage.

You are also able to choose between 9 Legendary Civilisations which include Greek, Norse and Egyptian to name but a few, these civilisations also have their own distinct gods.

Some of the civilisations play differently from others, for example, when using the Norse civilisation you are only able to construct buildings by selecting warriors where as with other civilisations you are able to construct using normal "gatherers".

Overall a Very good game and well worth buying if you enjoy a challenge, also good if you enjoyed Age Of Empires I and II.
