Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs arrived a year after Age of Empires III and is an expansion pack which adds an all new campaign, playable Native American civilizations and a whole array of other goodies. Gameplay in The WarChiefs is very similar to the original Age 3. The WarChiefs still retains the usual gameplay mechanics - it is still centred around getting an economy going.
For those who haven't played the original Age of Empires III, the game is set in the period of the "New World" settling, from the 1500s right up to the 1800s. The WarChiefs features a new campaign continuing on with the Age 3 tradition of Black family stories. Out of the two acts in TWC, the second one is much better but that is no great feat. The majority of the missions are very template styled and, unless you follow the story closely, players will feel they've completed the mission a good few times over. Players who are returning Real Time Strategy gamers might be disappointed with the lack of mission quantity as the campaign only takes a couple of days to complete and doesn't give the came much lasting appeal credibility as far as singleplayer goes.
Multiplayer in The WarChiefs is still with Ensemble Online, has been integrated very well with the original AoE 3. In fact, your European civilizations from the original get transferred over where you can continue to level them up as you win and lose. Ensemble have put an icon beside your online-name where ever it appears that has two variations; the first is the classic Musketeer hat that represents Age 3 and the second is an arrowhead displaying The WarChiefs. This means you can still chat with people playing the original game and creates as little division between communities as possible. This division is noticeable in other titles with expansion packs such as CnC Generals and Zero Hour.
Unfortunately, the same gameplay bugs from Age 3 plague The WarChiefs as well. Cavalry path-finding is still bugged and it is very hard to micromanage the units to be effective as their statistics say they should be. The Warchiefs, like its main game, can be picked up rather quickly. It's hard to learn, but very easy to master. There is still the lack of depth that other good RTS games offer.

Review of Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs Expansion Pack (PC)
Advantages: good content for money Disadvantages: need improvements in areas
After playing the original age of empires 3 this one came as a bit of a surprise to how good the game play is. The game combines 11 civilisations and this provides lots of diffrent games with lots of diffrent startegies. This could come from eith russian strelets to iroquis tomahawks, this provides game diversity and keeps you hooked. Also the troop status is easy to see and clearly shows what bonuses troops have versus some troops as like longbows ... ...and are superior to the age III game. This keeps the game original in value and is cheap to buy.
The online side of the game is better as it now combines more people who didnt like Age III but like warchiefs. This provides fun all the time, also if you have online friends form Age III that dont have warchiefs yo ucan still talk to them via internet, as the game uses the same client as Age III.
The gameplay is very good as it contains a single player ...

Advantages: More Units, Buildings, Campaigns, multiplayer Maps, and New multiplayer game types Disadvantages: Price (Having to buy Age of Empires 3 and then the War Chiefs Expansion)
After buying Age of Empires 3 (AoE 3) and playing on it for a while, I decided to buy the expansion pack.
First of all we need to look at price, the prices for these games vary but I think these are good averages:
AoE 3 - £19.99
AoE 3-War Chiefs - £14.99
You must see what I mean...Disavantage... I mean to use the War Chiefs Expasion pack according to my averages it will cost you £34.98. Having said this however, and after palying both games, ... ...is why I am recommending this and AoE 3 to you if you are like me a 'power Mad' kind of person!
The PC Specification needed to play this game is not great... you may think that this leads to bad game play and graphics etc... but no this is an extreamly well written and efficient software.
First and most important, Aoe 3 is needed to play this Expansion.
*Windows XP or Higher is needed
*256 MB of RAM
*1.4 GHz Processor
*2GB Hard Drive Space

Advantages: New exciting features and levels Disadvantages: You need AOE 3 as well
Age of empires from the early versions to the new one has been one of the greatest strategy games for the PC. It let the player engage in endless battles, build magnificant buildings and fight to the death. In the new age of empires, microsoft has taken the graphics to a whole new level, making the game even more realistic. You will have to plan, build and most important of all fight in a whole new way. Numbers don't matter anymore. You will be able ...

Manufacturer's product description
In a nutshell:The most popular historical real-time strategy around gets another update, as you're put in control of the natives rather than the colonials in an attempt to fight back against the conquest of America. The lowdown:One of the few major complaints levelled at the original Age of Empires III was the odd way that Native Americans were handled in the game, where they played only a minor supporting role. Apparently they were saving themselves for this expansion pack, which includes three different tribes: Iroquois, Sioux and Aztec. Each has a very different set of units and buildings, both compared to the European factions and each other. The expansion also includes new hero units for everyone, new minor tribes (for a total of 16) and a new victory condition called Trade Monopoly where you have to take control of your opponent's trading posts. Most exciting moment:The most unusual of the three new factions are the plains dwelling Sioux, who are master horsemen and do not need to build houses in order to create more troops. This makes them a highly unpredictable enemy and perfect for hit and run attacks.Since you ask:One of the most interesting new features for the European faction is to call for a revolution. This stops all your production for the rest of the game but instantly upgrades all your military units and turns all your civilians into soldiers. It's a big risk but often the only way out of a tight spot. The bottom line: A solid expansion to one of last year's best strategy games.-HARRISON DENT AGE OF EMPIRESIII:WRCHFS STANDARD 1 LICS UK See all
