I was totally right about Christmas and receiving even more perfumes than I already own so Ive got to try and get my last two scent reviews done before I move onto my new collection. Anywaythis particular perfume I initially didnt want to try because I thought the name was a bit odd and even though Id heard a lot of brilliant things about Agent Provacateur I really wasnt sold on the idea of this perfume straight away, the perfume in question is obviously this 'Agent Provacateur - Maitresse' which yes is a very odd name but the perfume itself is actually much nicer than I expected - dont expect miracles but this is an okay scent.

Price: Around £25 - 50ml bottle - Although prices vary greatly so be on the lookout for a bargain.

Perfume Type: Feminine, Oriental & Fruity. 'Maitresse' is actually french for teacher - even the perfume name in english seems very odd to me - why is a perfume called teacher? LOL.

The Bottle:
The bottle is a quite chunky, gold teardrop shape which I know most people will be drawn to but I personally think for this brand it comes across a bit tacky and I think the gold is a bit too shimmery and glittery for me - its an okay colour but for A.P I expected something a bit classier. On the front of the bottle is the perfume name in swirly red lettering along with an image of a scantily clad woman which I think is supposed to add to the seductive tone of the design overall - I dont think they quite managed to make the bottle look THAT sexy and seductive and although it is very nice I wouldnt buy it for the bottle alone - I dont think it would appeal to me in a shop. Its okay but nothing really special.

The Scent:

Top Notes: Saffron , Corriander & Morrocan Rose.
Middle Notes: Amber, Jasmine & Ylang Ylang.
Base Notes: Magnolia & Musk.

So judging by that list I have NO idea why this has been described as a fruity perfume as there are no fruity scents and it doesnt smell very sweet or fruity at all to me. It is definitely a floral fragrance with a spicy, oriental edge.

The Morrocan Rose, Jasmine & Ylang Ylang are definitely the strongest scents straight off the bat and all the way through really which gives this perfume a really sensual, heady fragrance which I really enjoy while it lasts before the other notes start to mix in. The notes of Corriander + Saffronb are very noticable throughout which is what gives this perfume the spicy edge - thankfully it is just a edge that stays in the background and not one that makes this perfume smell like a balti restaurant! The Musk comes through towards the end and gives this perfume a much sweeter and slightly heavier tone which makes it perfect for wearing at night. The smell is very pleasant - its not my favourite ever but it's one I would deifnitely wear more in the future.

Other Comments:

Staying Power:
The senusal, heavy notes in this scent ensure that the staying power is actually pretty great. This tends to last around 6 hours on my skin which is just better than average in my experience so one bottle will last quite a while.

Age?
I would recommend this scent to Id guess 20's and upwards as I think it might be a little to sensual and sophisticated for younger women. Having said that Im 19 and I really like it so try before you buy as you might be surprised.

Day Or Night? Summer Or Winter?
Definitely a nightime fragrance in my opinion this would be far too heavy for me to wear in the day - I think ti would give me a headache. But I think this would be suitable to wear at any time of year I dont think this would suit a season more. Overall recommended from me.
