I bought my scanner a couple of months ago, and I don't know why I didn't buy one sooner.

I use it sooo much. I use it mostly to scan pictures of my family to use for e-greetings.

The scanner comes with its own installation software, and its very simple to use. You just put in the Cd, and follow the insructions on screen.

Then comes the fun in using it. I found it to scan relatively quickly and was fairly quiet. The scaned pictures can be done at your choice of resolution and to a destination of your choice, ie folders, emailed, optimized for web pages and sent to your printer to print image etc. The dimensions of the scanned image can be altered up to 800% or much smaller than 100% and you can choose to save only a portion of the image to your destination (so if you want to cut out most of the background you can do before you send it to your file).

Many types of images can be scanned, from glossy photos, mat finish photos, magazine prints, news paper articles, cheaques, certificates, 3d items such as jewlery etc. The maximum size of image that can be scanned is (8.5" x 11.7").

The software that comes with the scanner allows you to adjust the colour, brightness and saturation of your image. You can add in different backgrounds, and sharpen the clearness of the image. Also, effects such as page curl, soften the focus of image, add transparency, rotate image, add frame effect, add captions to your image, correct red eye, the list really is endless.

The only thing that lets it down is that you have to remember to switch the scanner on before you boot up your computer or it just won't function as it should. Its also quite large compared to many others on the market so it does take a bit of space. The main specifications:
  • Flatbed scanner - desktop
  • Max Supported Media Size A4 (210 x 297 mm)
  • Dimensions
    (WxDxH) 37.5 cm x 53 cm x 13.9 cm
  • Weight 7.5 kg

(Which is really what is stated on the overview)The cost of the scanner is under £100.

All in all it is a good scanner and the price is very affordable. It is well reccommeded for home use.
