This camera looks like it's designed to sell at £30. At £50 it might be ok. I paid £100 so here goes.. It has excellent design - simple to use & effective. It's not sophisticated but the colour correction is perfect for snap shooting, the batteries seem to last forever; it's very light & compact - ideal to take around with you for off the cuff shooting. It comes with pretty good software & downloads are quick & effiecient - though you must have a ... ...the lens quality - a reject from the Hubble Space Telescope or maybe one of those magnifying glasses you get in Christmas crackers - a half decent lens probably wouldn't have cost the producers (in China) more than a few pence! In both definition modes it produces a picture 640x480. Viewed at this mode (on all but a very small monitor) you are going to see rounded edges & smudging. Minor niggles - the case tore away from my belt after about 3 hours ...

Advantages: Good basic cheap digial camera that can take motion video Disadvantages: All but poor in the best conditions
The CL18 is Agfa's first digital camera that retails for less than £100. But although it is relatively cheap it boasts a number of features common to the more expensive models. The first thing that strikes you about this camera is its size. It is extremely compact and light, and comes in a choice of either a silver or blueberry casing. The control buttons are all located on the back, with a small display showing battery power, resolution and flash ... ...screen, battery consumption is significantly reduced, but those used to viewing and deleting photos on a screen before downloading them will find its absence irritating - after all, 'pub cred' is a significant buying factor for digital camera users. The camera is dual mode, which means that it can take video footage as well as still images. This means it can be used for videoconferencing, which can be carried out over the Internet or a local area ...

Advantages: Small,Webcam, Easy to use, Acceptable battery life, good for email and internet Disadvantages: problems with XP driver, quality, customer service
...get to work from the agfa website is the one in dutch. Agfa may have updated their site with new UK XP drivers now - but I should check this before buying.
I emailed agfa about the camera but recieved no response - so I am doubtful that they have high level of customer service.
I am very pleased with the camera overall - you get alot for your £50 worth - a webcam alone costs approx £30! The pictures are ideal for emailing to friends and putting ... ...due to the light getting into the lens.
The webcam quality is acceptable - sometimes the image appears quite `blocky' when used in netmeeting. I have used this camera both on netmeeting and yahoo with no connection problems.
When connected to the computer via the USB, the computer powers the camera so the battery life does not run down. I have used bigger, more expensive cameras which eat the battery when pictures are transferred to the computer!!

Advantages: Light weight small and compact. Disadvantages: Low quality pictures unless lighting is perfect.
The Agfa CL18 is a small, lightweigh and low cost camera.
I bought my CL18 about a year ago at a cost of aprox 50 pounds. The camera came with a small carry case, wrist strap, USB cable, manual and a camera stand. The stand is pretty usefull if you want to use your camera as a web cam. When used as a web cam the pictures are of fairly good quality, but for photographs the CL18 leaves a lot to be desired.
On the day I bought the camera I went for ... ...set of batteries.
The Agfa website leaves a lot to be desired and I spend literaly ages trying to find the propper drivers when I upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows XP. The new drivers do work OK but I had to really search to find them. The manual that cames with the camers is actualy very well written. To be honest there are not enough features to make this camers confusing but the manual does go into a lot of detail.
The softwre provided with ...

Advantages: In todays market absolutely nothing Disadvantages: No value for money, quite large, Quite heavy, terrible battery life
Well this is my fourth opinion so far and the three previous ops have been negative, so guess what? i am not going to break the trend here.
I got this camera some time ago now, probably 3 years ago actually. I was looking at expensive cameras as well as cheap cameras before eventually getting fed up and just choosing the cheap version as i thought the more expensive cameras just offered more un-needed features.
This was my first mistake, the camera's ... ...comparing it to the many key ring £40 digital cameras around this camera has even worse picture quality.
Unfortunetly i decided to use this camera at my sister's university graduation, the pictures were poor to say the least and really didn't capture the day at all well.
The quality being bad is only half the problem. the camera has a very poor battery life. It is so bad infact that having had the batteries in for just 5 minutes the camera would ...
