...Scooters are getting used more and more these days because of the ease, the cost and the fuel use. You can weave through traffic with ease and scoot around on 130mpg! You can buy a good quality scooter for about £600 and the makes I would personally recommend are Benelli, Aprilla and Suzuki. You can ride a 50cc scooter at age 16 and a 125cc at age 17. Advantages: reliable, stylish, cheap maintenance

...Looking for a retro scooter but haven't been into scootering for to long? The Vspa PX is the scooter for you! The PX can be made to look very sixties with the addition of a few accessories yet looks comfortably modern if left as standard. The scooter has gears (unlike the automatic ET range) which in my opinion adds to the fun of riding and your overall control of the bike. In terms of reliability the PX probably loses out slightly to the ET range but with a manual and a few tools even the least mechanically minded person could virtually rebuild the scooter for the price of a few (cheap) parts and a couple of hours work. The scooter allows you to carry a spare whell so punctures can be sorted in a matter of minutes and almost any other breakdown can be dealt with equally as expediantly. Advantages: Method Of Transport
Disadvantages: Difficult to find at resonable price

...I have recently purchased a 50cc Suzuki scooter. However the procedure I went through to obtain it was quite difficult... For days I looked through classified adds and sites such as Ebay to see if I could find a scooter that was good for me. Now I only really had about a £500 budget for this as it was going to be a birthday present off my mum, so obviously I needed a good condition second hand one. However when I finally found my scooter on "AOL classifieds" I was more than happy. It was well worth the wait and I would reccomend one for anyones 16th birthday present! BUT do not forget to drive a scooter you need -to do a CBT course -to be atleast 16 -only 50cc until 17 -Tax, MOT and Insurance -provisional driving license AND never forget your helmet!
