I bought one of these last year for my boyfriend, and he raved about it so much I bought myself one. It's a great little player that offers some simple features and is a great entry level player.
Features -
Appearance - nice matt black finish with chrome-style notes. Simple, understated.
2.0 USB - quick to transfer files, works with all PC's I've used and plugs straight into USB ports - no cables need. No specialist software required
Voice recorder - simple to use, with surprisingly good quality. Not something you'd use to record music perhaps, but suitable certainly for recording spoken word.
Radio - not terribly good reception, wouldn't choose player for this function, but it works.
MP3 playback - good sound quality, easy to use navigation functions. Can use 1 level file structure (any more and the data gets lost). Has options for graphic equaliser, but didn't make much difference really, but sounds good enough not to notice too much.
Headphones - includes built in lanyard. Not terribly good, but functional enough.
Features - lock button, to lock operation while on the move. - volume control - removable cap for USB - hook ring for attaching to lanyard
Functionality - despite being small, this player is easy to use as it uses a navigation menu which is controlled using a single toggle switch on the side. Unlike other players I've tried, it is not covered in tiny little buttons and even my boyfriend who is not gifted with nimble fingers has no problems.
Reliability - I've had my player for over a year now and used it practically every day with out any problems. It uses a single AA battery, which lasts for quite some time(at a guess about 10 hours?) and I've used rechargables with no issue.
General thoughts - It's a great little entry level player that does the job without any whistles or bangs. If you want to view videos or hold your entire CD collection, this isn't the player for you. For me it's strength comes in it's size and value - at this price I'm not worried about taking it to the gym, on holiday or just chucking it in my bag as it's cheap enought to replace should anything happen to it. At this price, you have ask what is wrong with it, and to my mind you simply miss out on some features, but if you can live without them it's perfectly functional.
Advantages: looks cool Disadvantages: bit out of date
Now I know that are more advanced mp3 players around, but this is great if you want a simple to use and reliable product. It also looks attractive in baby pink, making it appealing and stylish. It is not the slimmest of products, but it's small and compact enough to fit in your pocket without being uncomfortable. It has a decent size memory, allowing for quite a few songs and is good for not skipping when in the middle of your favourite song, so ... ...running through the park.
By also having the hold button, it makes sure that there are no changing tracks whilst you are bopping along. It has some features, such as random, repeat and intro scan, so you can mix up your music. The equaliser is also good, especially if you want a bit more bass. This MP3 player is also pretty good for playing for a long period of time before the batteries need replacing. Overall, I wouldn't say it was the most effective ...
