I was only introduced to the delights of Cous Cous within the last few years and I haven't looked back since. I have also found my favourite flavour after testing out a lot of shops own brands, ready made cous cousand finially my favourite Ainsley Harriott Cous Cous.
The Cous Cous From Ainsley Harriott comes in several different flavours such as Citrus kick, Tomato Tango, Spice Sensation, Moroccan Medley and roasted Vegetable Style. I have tried all of these flavours, apart from the Citrus Kick as this really doesn't appeal to me, and found my favoruite to be the Moroccan Medley.
The Cous Cous can be bought in single sachets or indeed cartons which contain two sachets and are slightly cheaper. The single sachets are priced at around 70 pence where as the cartons are roughly about £1.20p. This is a good price for what you are getting and even compared to shops own brand is not really that much more expensive.
The packaging looks good and has all the right information on the outside. The cartons are easy to store in the cupboard as are the single sachets and they are also easy to open.
To make the cous cous all you have to do is empty one sachet into a bowl and add 120ml of boiling water. You then have to wait for the water to be absorbed by the cous cous and then with a fork fluff the cous cous up. It is so simple and I find a perfect thing to take into work for lunch as something different.
Cous Cous is basically like small balls of rice but far better. The Ainsley Harriott Cous Cous has all this added flavour and is just so tasty. The cous cous boasts having no artifical flavours, colours or preservatives which is always good to know and it is rather low in fat.
The Moroccan Medley, my favourite, when made up smells so warm and wonderful and even when eaten cold it still has a warm and flavoursome taste. It is packed with herbs and spices which make it rather enjoyable to eat on it own or even with a curry. The cous cous has small pieces of tomato in side along with sunflower seeds that give a little crunch to the otherwise soft textured food. Eating a whole sachet of the cous cous rather does fill me up and I don't need anything else for lunch and often end up having a small dinner.
Overall I must say that I am hooked on Ainsley's Cous Cous. The price is brilliant for what you are getting and the taste is really second to none. I love both the flavour and the texture not to mention the wonderful smell that gets everyone else at work wanting my lunch! The fact that it fills me up so much is really an added bonus. It is low in saturated fat too, the list of good things seems just to go on and on!
I can only give a 5 star rating to this wonderful product and hope that it remains on our shelves for a very long time to come. High recommendation.
I do hope this has been of some help/interest to you.
Thanks for taking the time to read.
