Minutes. The target audience this time is the weight-watching home-maker, struggling to fit those healthy lifestyle changes into a busy schedule; and perhaps also keeping an eye on the kids' fat intake. You really have to hand it to Harriott: he's very good at what he does.Low Fat Meals in Minutespresents 80 fresh, interesting, tasty, low-fat recipes, none of which takes more than an hour to prepareand cook (and most a lot less), and each of which is accompanied by a clear colour photograph--so you know exactly what it's supposed to look like--and nutrition notes. What could be simpler or more encouraging? In the usual Harriott manner, inspiration ranges all over, with a preference for the flavours of Latin America, the Mediterranean and South-East Asia. So Prawn, Mushroom and Bean Sprout Noodles sits cheek-by-jowl with Jalapeno Tiger-Prawn Ginger Skewers; while not far away is Roast Lemon Bay-Scented Cod. Cajun and Jamaican jerk seasonings are also used to good effect, for example in the Louisiana Blue Cheese and Chicken Sandwich and Jamaican Jerk Chicken. Puddings are strong on fruit: a particularly happy invention is the "Live and Kicking" Lemon and Chilli Sorbet. A handy collection, therefore, of speedy, waistline-friendly recipe ideas, which might prove something of a primer in expanding culinary horizons. The drawback, for some, will be Harriott himself. You don't have to be a toffee-nosed Elizabeth-David-or-nothing purist to find his manner grating ("Slap 'em on the barbie" "Dee-lish!" "Wowee"). But he's nothing if not friendly. --Robin Davidson

AinsleyHarriott Chicken Flavour Rice............
After trying AinsleyHarriott's wonderfully flavoursome cous cous, I decided to try out all of his other products that he has in his range. The first one I went for was this Chicken Flavour Rice. I was always a big fan of Bachelors Flavoured Rice so this Ainsley Hariott product was one I was certain I was going to like and I was right!
The rice is around 70 pence per packet and I have seen them for sale in most of the leading supermarkets and a lot of smaller local shops too. The packet contains 120 grams and does state that this is a 2 serving packet although I would say that it would serve two as part of a main meal but I chose to eat all of my packet on my own for a lunch time meal.
The rice is less than 1% fat and this is what also attracted me to product. It actually has ...
Ainsley Harriot Cous Cous.......
I was only introduced to the delights of Cous Cous within the last few years and I haven't looked back since. I have also found my favourite flavour after testing out a lot of shops own brands, ready made cous cousand finially my favourite AinsleyHarriott Cous Cous.
The Cous Cous From AinsleyHarriott comes in several different flavours such as Citrus kick, Tomato Tango, Spice Sensation, Moroccan Medley and roasted Vegetable Style. I have tried all of these flavours, apart from the Citrus Kick as this really doesn't appeal to me, and found my favoruite to be the Moroccan Medley.
The Cous Cous can be bought in single sachets or indeed cartons which contain two sachets and are slightly cheaper. The single sachets are priced at around 70 pence where as the cartons are roughly about £1.20p ...
Advantages: quick, easy, tasty Disadvantages: a little pricey when not on offer
It has been quite a while since i tried this product, but I do remember it well. It was on offer in morrisons at the time, two for one, and I remember thinking that it might not be something I would buy normally if it were not on offer due to the price. I tend to buy plain couscous ordinarily, and jazz it up myself.
I found it extremely easy to make, you simply add water, zap in the microwave, stir, zap a bit more, let it stand, job done. It's really very tasty too! Always a bonus.
it's a nice packet, bright colours, and nice layout. The box contains two 100g sachets, and claims that each sachet serves 2, though I can easily eat a sachet to myself (though it would be enough for two people if having it as a side dish with something else).
It is suitable for vegetarians, and has less than 2% fat. Nutritional information is: Energy 763k ...
