Advantages: very small and compact Disadvantages: seems a bit fragile
I am writing an opinion about the aiptek pocket dv 11 but as this and the aiptek pocket dv are more or less the same and i could not add the specific product i thought i would do it here
I have recently aquired one of the dv 11 from america and it arrived safely but i would warn anyone who gets it shipped over there is a £40.00 surcharge when it gets here for vat so whatever the price is in us dollars add $60.00 to it and this will be payable before they hand over the package
The camcorder and all the software cost $149 plus $36 for shipping and $50 for the smart card which was quite cheap £153 but then you add the $60.00 as well and it cost £193 which is still a reasonable price with all that is on offer
right the dv 11
this is a camcorder, digital camera, voice recorder and a webcam all in one
The dv11 fits into ...
Advantages: Great budget camera, very good picture quality for age/price. Disadvantages: Not manufactured anymore. See review for details of others.
This is a webcam from the German manufacturers " AIPTEK ". Not a company I had heard of when I received this as an unwanted gift.
A little history about the company from their site.
http://www.aiptek.com.tw/
1997: AIPTEK were founded in the Hsin-Chu city in Taiwan.
2000: AIPTEK created the World's 1st PenCam
2001: We introduced World's No.1 Point-&-Shot DV.
2002: We were awarded the iF Design Award for our Network Camera, ANC6000(W)
2003: We announced our first IPO.
So what will it do for me? I hear you ask well, in essence this is a webcam only, and thus you will not be using it as a digital camera, but along with Windows movie maker you can capture videos with it (640 x 480 Pixels, 704 x 576 Pixels). However the supplied CD software will only allow capture of single framed pictures.
PACKAGING ...
Advantages: Inexpensive, small, handy, useful Disadvantages: some people might prefer a mouse
I recently bought a Hyper Pen by Aiptek after my usual mouse died on me. I was sent a leaflet in the mail, and got the Hyper Pen opn a special offer - £34.99 including all the handwriting software, cordless mouse and some extra bonus software. The Hyper Pen is a very useful gadget. you can use the pen as a usual mouse, or you can use it as a writing pen, where word will convert the writing to text. It does take a little while to get used to the pen as opposed to the mouse, but it's advantages far outweighs any bad points.
You can set up 12 'shortcuts' on the pad (labelled F1 to F12), and when you touch them with the pen your selected program will open. For example, I have set F1 to open Word, F2 to open Excel, and so on.
Another useful feature is that it has a transparent flap which you can lift up, and place a picture (or ...
