A brilliant little camera if you get it as cheaply as I did; the 5700 is so unbelievably small that a field mouse could effectively be used as the carry-case. Luckily the camcorder does come with it's own bag and so no field mice need be harmed.

Advantages: Tiny, cheap, cute, battery life, charging dock Disadvantages: Filming in the dark, filming when dancing, ammo in a fight

The photos do not show the side of the camera that would normally have a strap for ease of use when filming. This is probably because they don't want you to know that it doesn't have one. It's ... ...with your thumb but you get used to it. Also mine has turned itself off once or twice when filming with the flappy bit closed. This doesnt bother me as I just don't close the flap, but if you're a serial flap-closer then this could be troublesome.

The photos do not show the side of the camera that would normally have a strap for ease of use when filming. This is probably because they don't want you to know that it doesn't have one. It's quite a skill to film effectively without blocking the mic with your thumb but you get used to it. Also mine has turned itself off once or twice when filming with the flappy bit closed. The best thing about this camcorder without a doubt is the battery life. I captured all the best moments of a fantastic weekend in the Scottish mountains and still had enough juice left on Monday to annoy all my hungover friends by showing them in real-time just how rough they looked.
Bad points, the camcorder is useless in the dark. The camera is useless when walking as it shakes all over the town. The camera is useless on zoom. The still-camera is pretty pants too.
All in all I would say if you're looking for something you don't mind throwing around in the park, at a festival or to make seedy looking home videos, and you can get it for less than £40 then it's a real bargain. However, if you actually know anything about camcorders and making films then this is probably as rubbish as they come.
For examples of film quality and also the types of cow that go to a music festival, go to youtube and type the word 'Knockengorroch'.
