Air Optix Night & Day Lenses

My boyfriend's dad is an optician and noticed I was blinking a lot when wearing my previous contact lenses, particularly when it was late at night. I explained my contact lenses had become dry and uncomfortable especially after wearing them since 7.30am.

I was given a pair of these Air Optix to try and told that these contact lenses allow 5 times more oxygen to my eyes than my previous lenses and I could even sleep with them in for up to six days. I was advised to build up the hours I wore these each day and eventually try sleeping with them in.

When I put them on I was surprised by how comfortable they were and I could not feel them on my eyes like I could with my previous lenses. I had one day when I was feeling particularly tired and thought I would have a few problems with them drying out but was left impressed by how comfortable they were and they didn't 'catch' against my eyelids like my old ones used to do especially when I was tired.

Another good thing I noticed was the blood vessels which forms when you've been wearing your lenses too long did not start to form until much later in the day and when I did notice them, they were not as prominant. This is because the supply of oxygen to my eyes were much better and another benefit of these lenses is that they keep your eyeballs looking white so it appears they do their job quite well!

I built up the hours and felt brave enough to sleep with them in. When I woke up I was surprised to have perfect vision but I was more impressed when I noticed how comfortable they still were and had not started to dry out. I didn't have to rinse them and was impressed when I went to sleep again the next night and they were still comfortable and still in place.

After about four days I did notice them drying out but I just rinsed them with solution before putting them on again and carried on as usual. You are advised to take them out again after six days continuous wear and to let them soak in solution for at least 6 hours and it was nice to veg out and put my glasses on.

These are great for people who wear contact lenses for much of the day but they are more expensive than ordinary contact lenses so expect to pay more for these than usual.
