My opinion is that in terms of portable MD players, Aiwa has overtaken Sony. The AM-F 70 has rechargeable batteries, is light (220 g), compact and solid. The display is proportionally large. Like the buttons it is illuminated, which makes it easier to operate the player in the dark. What is a bit awkward, is that the entry of titles has to be done over the Jog-wheel. It would probably be easier if it was via the buttons, because the wheel is rather small.

When the player is in use it’s pretty noisy. And the quality of the sound is rather average when you connect it to a Hifi.
