Advantages: Nice design, good functions, backlit LCD remote control, JOG dial Disadvantages: Bit big for some, no line-out
...I have had my minidisc for a long time now, and have amassed quite a collection of discs. Of course, I haven't bought any retail music MDs because, with my excellent little AM-F70 from aiwa, I can record my CDs and MP3s to minidisc!
It might be a little bit old now, but I still prefer my minidisc player/recorder to my friends' machines (mostly Sonys). It is fairly chunky, at approx. 11cm x 8.5cm (4.25" x 3.5"), slightly smaller than my wallet. This seems pretty small to me and, to be honest, the newer players are just TOO small. I like the feeling of my aiwa AM-F70 - just heavy enough to feel like it was worth the staggering £200 I paid for it (you should be able to pick one up for much less than this now though... about £130 or somewhere around that figure).
The unit is nicely designed, with clear but not-too-big buttons and a backlit...

Advantages: Excellent value for money, wide range of features Disadvantages: Sound quality goes beyond certain volume, not robust enough for children
...I bought this HiFi system for my mother for her Christmas present last year. It cost £149.99 from Argos. It is no doubt cheaper now (as all things are) but at the time, it was the budget I had set myself.
I am favorable over Aiwa systems as, in my opinion, are one of the most reliable manufacturers out there. I have bought an Aiwa system before and have always been more than happy with what I received.
The System offered a wide range of features, all of which are more than enough for what my mother uses it for. Features include:
1) Two tape decks
2) 3-disk multiCD player
3) Headphones and mic socket
4) T-Bass feature (boosting bass frequency)
5) Colour LCD display
6) A little game to play when the machine is on standby (waste of time)
7) 10 track programing facility
8) Mood settings (four pre-set settings for graphic...

Advantages: Lots of great features, very durable, good price Disadvantages: Disadvantages? Yeah right!
...logo on the top face. It also has a black belt clip, which I have explained about earlier. All in all, an attractive little piece of equipment and it will easily fit into your pocket if you don’t like the belt clip idea. It isn’t very heavy either, which is a good thing. It weighs approximately 172 grams or 6.02 ounces. The dimensions are 112.6 X 86.8 X 34.9 mm.
DURABILITY

I have had this product for what must be about three years now and have had no problems whatsoever, as with most of my possessions it has been dropped, knocked, and generally banged about a bit but there is not one mark or scratch on the unit, which is very encouraging. The Walkman proves that Aiwa can produce high-quality goods that do not get damaged easily. On a more technical side, I have had no errors or faults with the Aiwa HS-TX486...
