INTRODUCTION
**********************
A few years ago I was looking for a new Walkman as my old one, a very outdated Sony model, had broken. So where do you begin when looking for a Walkman? Well, I personally decided to look in the Argos catalogue for a bargain Walkman made by a brand I could trust. I opted for the same manufacturer as my Hi-Fi, Aiwa, and this attractive little Aiwa HS-TX486 caught my eye at a very affordable price.
PRICE

I forget what the price was back then, but now after some research I can tell you that this little gem can now be bought for just £20.00, which...

Advantages: Sturdy, cheap, feature-filled. Disadvantages: Burns through batteries, but all these things do.
...them away.
Battery life on the thing is about 10 hours on 2 AA batterieis in MP3 mode. I think you get more life out of it if you're just running it with a CD because it doesn't have to run the decoding software.
Sound quality is great. I really don't have any complaints about it, it sounds just as good as when I'm running the MP3s in Winamp on my computer.
As far as style goes, there's nothing really cool or bad looking about the thing. I thought the TDK Mojo looked rather utilitarian, and the Rio Volt looked pretty cool, and the Aiwa player falls right in between. But, hey, it costs less. What do I care?!

Advantages: butch looking cheap great make Disadvantages: looks like somthing out of alien
...This Hifi is loudish but has a good crisp sound 40W/ch (RMS 10% THD) loud enough for my flat anyway.
The hifi has a 3cd changer, why i dint buy a five changer i dont know and an mp3 playback ability.
This was the deciding factor along with the price for buying this hifi along with the make.
I can download from various websites paid for of course and copy the songs or music to cd and play them in the hifi a great tool.
I bought this hifi for £105.00 but i do believe the price has pumeted since before christmas.
Bad news for me good news for potential buyers.
The layout is easy to use and looks may put people off but it is user friendly and very ergonomic with a Fluorescent Displey in a light blue shade and silver pushe buttons and volume, base, and tone knobs.
I forgot to mention the twin tape deck, not that many people use them now...
