Advantages: Very Small and light Disadvantages: Not the best earphones you could get
...After searching for hours on the web for a nice small and stylish minidisk player i finally found the Aiwa AM-HX50. It seemed to be the best value for money out there, and looked great, when it arrived i was not dissapointed. dispite it's small size it is fairly durable, i've been taking it out with me everywhere and dropped it a few times and it is still working perfectly. The batteries last for ages and you hardly notice it when it is in your pocket.
This portable minidisk is a great buy and a bargin i would recommend it to anyone who is not looking for a minidisk recorder...

Advantages: it all works Disadvantages: it has no soul
...I have had better I have had worse, the sound quality is typical Aiwa, middle of the range. The features are jam packed but a few essentials are missing like rf4 digital output and a mini disk, which in todays market is a little surprising. The looks are again Aiwa to a tee, slightly futuristic and not quite right somehow. In general if this stereo was a car it would be the Nissan Almera, It has most of the right bits, it is well put together it does the job but it lacks a little soul, a little panache and that is why it looks like and sounds like a mass market system, and I guess that is exactly what it is, so even there I can't mark this product down. I would love to either love or hate this system but I can do neither....

...I think this is quite possibly the easiest least fussy stereos I have ever owned. It does everything I ask to a fantastic quality, It sounds Ok and its features all work effortlessly in every mode. I like the fact that the wiring is relatively simple and it has no extra little foibles that annoy you and don't work quite right. It looks a little wierd , perhaps a little futuristic and it has a little habit of not really bringing CD's to life but it plays them more than adequately and is certainly better than some more expensive models.
This is the first Aiwa I have owned and while it does not feel as solid as technics or pioneer it certainly matches them. I only wish that a minidisk was standars as I cannot find one that matches it totally and I do feel that minidisks are now standard issue....
