...I bought the RX500 as I had been looking for an all in one to replace my printer and scanner. I have windows XP now and was having problems with the existing scanner working. I have now had the printer for over 1 month and find it very easy to use. Up until now I have not used all of the functions but any I have used I have had no problems with. The software which comes with it for scanning, printing etc. is easy to use and gives excellent results. The printer is quite bulky for sitting on the top of the desk but I have found that it is the only place for access for loading paper, or, inserting documents for scanning. I seem to be about half way down the ink cartridges in the month but I have been printing out quite a few photos. I was worried about the cost of replacement cartridges as it takes 6, but I have already found a source...

Advantages: Quality of build, quality of output, simplicity Disadvantages: None so far
...I have just purchased the RX500 to replace a very old slow colour printer. A couple of test prints show that the output is great, very detailed and bright vivid colours.
I have started to scan in all my old slides and with the bundled software I have been able to improve the quality.
As a printer the quality is good and fast, I have not timed it to see if it matcehs the specs. For home use it is more than adequate.
I have tested the scanner and printer by printing digital photos, then scanning them and doing an on screen comparison. The results are almost perfect to the naked eye.
It was easy to setup the printer and install the software.
So far I am a very happy bunny, I would strongly recommend this product....
