Advantages: Good tone quality, good tape recording quality Disadvantages: Needs longer leads on speakers - needs frequent CD lens cleaning
1995 seems like a long time ago but that's when we bought our Aiwa NSX-V70 from Comets and, although I am aware that others seem to have given this stereo system bad reviews, we have found ours to be really excellent. Maybe it's something to do with acoustics but we find the tone very rich, particularly on its equalizer settings - I purchased a couple of phono leads and connected to our nicam Sony VCR and/or DVD player. Another thing that must be said, is that we have not "hammered" the system to maybe that's why is has given such long service.
Although the original price was near to £400, I have since seen the same unit going on Ebay from around £50. The prices have come right down on these units now.
Facilities:

Advantages: iPod dock, Digital tuner, Price Disadvantages: Sound quality, features could be thought out better
After years of faithful service from my Aiwa separates, the amplifier finally gave up the ghost earlier this year so I decided to look for an inexpensive and smaller alternative. I must admit I viewed it as a stop-gap purchase at the time but now, several months later, I have still not been tempted to replace it with a more expensive unit. Here is my review...
The unit is quite compact and light enough to be placed on a sturdy shelf (but don't place it too high up because the controls are on top of the unit). The speakers are detached from the main unit and the wires are around 6 feet in length, providing further placement options.
The rear of the unit has sockets for AM, FM and Digital (DAB ...
Advantages: seemingly good value Disadvantages: stops working!
This system is the second aiwa midi hi-fi I have owned. The first one had major problems with the CD lens after about three years, and, true to form, having owned my current systen for about three years the CD part of the system is starting to malfunction.
Possibly this could just be my bad luck, but for it to happen twice is downright strange. Up until now I have been pleased with it; it was good value for money and does most of thing I want it to, but unfortunately Now I feel Aiwa as a brand is tarnished in my eyes.
Next time I'll try something different. ...
