More experienced users will probably remove thermal compound and polish the surface of the cooler ( it is far from being a mirror ) and then apply high quality thermal compound. Advantages: Gets rid of even silver thermal paste, in seconds!
Disadvantages: Smell gives you a headache

...simply: > Scrape off most of the old thermal paste with plastic or a cloth. > Apply solution with a clean dry cloth (lint free cloth recommended, such as lense cleaning cloth whitch I used) > Leave for 1-2 minutes, but it worked in about 15 seconds for me. > Then just wipe it off and its gone like magic!
